I read that as the lower seat is recommended to be at the 213mm or 226mm position depending on which shock is installed and the spring will give the lift it's designed to give without excess preload or overextending the shock.

It lists the standard coil seat height, which matches what the truck came with, and lifted springs will add whatever lift height they're designed to be.

Raising the perch up to 226mm (13mm, 1/2", 2:1 ratio), adds 1" of lift to the lifted coil height.

Ok I’m even more confused now. I understand the 2:1 ratio and the details surrounding that. What I’m not clear on is: what setting will provide a 2” lift on a stock 2020 2WD Tacoma Sport. MRR’s with C59-296 coils. I want to say the box had 220mm written on it as the setting. I’m guessing, based on my previous struts (Eibach w 2” lift coil) that my new Dobinsons struts are now @ 1.5” lifted from stock. I’m trying to understand @ how high I want to measure for them to be 2” higher than stock.

I would start with the standard Tacoma coil seat height of 213mm. You have a 2WD which the listed spring heights aren't for, so the shorter height C59-296 should be somewhere around the 2" mark on your truck. Then you can add height after that if necessary but that would be the starting point.

@Crikeymike is there an update on items that show "available on backorder", such as the 352 coils or the 111 leafs? Once ordered, how long has it been taking for these orders to be fulfilled? Just trying to get an idea before making a decision on things.

For a 2021 Tacoma DCSB TRD Offroad, would the 354 coil (with the MRA) be a bit crazy out of control for around 213lbs of added weight up front? This would be with MRAs for the rear as well but possibly going with a Deaver U402 leaf pack if that would mesh well?? Would it be hard to piece everything needed together if i did indeed go that route? And of course I was planning on SPC UCAs. I had originally planned on the 352 coil with the MRA 220. It seems if I settled on the 354 coil due to wait time on the 352 coil then the MRA 220 would be way too much lift.

I am definitely wanting to be closer to the higher side of "highest recommened"

We're looking at March for the 352's. We're waiting on an ETA for the leaf springs which will probably be March also. All rear springs are currently sold out.

Sure, you could run another brand of leaf spring, no problem.

The fronts are fully height adjustable, so it's easy to run the 354 coils and set the coil seat height for 1/2" less height, since those are a 1/2" taller. With that much front weight, those 354 coils will work fine. I'd probably set them to the standard coil seat height so you get 2.5" of lift with the weight. Or you could go up from there if you wanted to max out at 3.5" of front lift (using 226mm seat height).

In stock orders are now shipping within 2-3 days.

Yeah, you just enter each part number into the search box at the top of my website to order each part separately. It's no cheaper or more expensive to do it that way as it all adds up the same way anyway.

Hey Mike, assuming you are referring to the MRA 220 here?

    Thanks for all the info!

Dobinsins determined that all Tacoma's need to use the MRA59-A220 fronts instead of the 221's. :notsure:

Interesting, while I like this 100% because the 220s are the ones I want, perhaps @Crikeymike can shed some light as to why or offer some clarification to help others trying to make suspension selections

Better hose length for routing on the Tacoma plus almost everyone wants 2" lift or more on them which the 220s are better suited to.

You'll notice the IMS are only made in the 220 size, no 221s

That is interesting. So for someone who wants a 2" lift (maximum) by using for example the 314 spring, would you still recommend the 220 shock? If so, does it get set up differently such as by lowering the seating height to achieve 2" of lift? Also would there be any drawback to being at the very bottom of the shock range of the 220 (right at 2" for a shock recommended for 2-3.5")?

Does anyone have a picture of where they mounted the front remote reservoir on a 3rd gen? I am stumped, it doesn't seem like the hose is long enough to use the brackets supplied when the suspension is at full droop and I feel like i'm missing something obvious.

I assume you are referring to the MRA struts. Do you have them mounted like this? https://exitoffroad.com/product/dob...acoma-gx470-4th-gen-4runner-early-fj-cruiser/

I have the old mount installed like @GrundleJuice pointed out (threaded directly into the frame). Pics here: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads...o-bay-area-norcal.640100/page-5#post-23778010

Thanks for the replies and pointers - I figured out from the picture above how to get it mounted after some searching which was enough for me to get it secured enough to drive it out of the garage - I'm going to revisit it all when I'm less tired. Thanks again for the help!
