Pro Stance question

Hey guys! Quick question for you all... I like the look of the Pro stance. That inch in the front just looks better than the nose dive on my OR IMO... instead of buying pro suspension kit and blowing money on that... would it be easiest to just get some 5100 shocks (and coils? Or no coils?) notch it hire in the front and none in the rear and call it good? I think and I could be wrong but I think the PRO and OR rear sit at the the same Height...

Just curious how I might go about getting this look.

The offset on the Pro wheels is also +10 instead of the OR's +25, that also makes a difference in the stance. I installed the TRD Pro Fox suspension with 1/4" spacer and I was pretty much level. The appearance difference wasn't as noticeable as when I added 1.25" Spidertrax wheel spacers.

 

Find Pro take off's.

Someone around here is bound to think they need more on their Pro than it came with.

 

Like OR factory, not Pro. Not that that is bad. Just sayin...........

@Interbeing , I would consider a 5100 a downgrade. It's an ok shock, nothing special. It's popular because of perch choices that allow a cheap lift from pre loading the spring. And certainly it would be better than a worn out shock of any type.

But for your purposes, there are better options.

 

I have the wheels and suspension from a pro laying around. Has less than 10,000 miles on it. Three tires too. One is on my spare. I went to old man emu almost immediately.

That's exactly what I did, got the TRD Pro Fox suspension system take off with 18k for $550. Couldn't be happier.

 

And by doing that you have the Pro stance pretty much?

 

Along with the wheels spacers, pretty much.

 

Looks like we were both incorrect. But, even as +13, the offset still does make a difference in the way the truck's stance compared to the OR +25 offset.

 

I have 2020 Pro wheels which are different from the 2019. I am going to assume this is for all Pro models?

 

The 2020 has a new style wheel that is a +10 offset instead of the +13 from previous years

 

I knew I saw that +10 offset for Pro wheels somewhere.

 

Your gonna need to lift the rear 1 inch as well if u want the true Pro stance/height.

 

Does anyone know any suspension kits that are equivalent to the pro suspension. If they are as overpriced as you guys say maybe you have some insight on a kit that will give me the pro look but is more financially realistic if that makes sense.

I will Keep an eye out for take offs as well... just looking at options

The pro is nice but I think the stance is weak looking for such an over priced truck. I'm on Bilstein 5100s and they do not compress the springs. My trucks stance is way better looking than a Pro all day long. The fox system in nice but it's not the best. Nothing wrong with the 5100s at all. You put on a good set of tires and any sr or sport will go anywhere you want it to.

 

The Billy 5100’s are digressive shocks versus the Fox Pro’s External Bypass Valve progressive shocks. Big difference, a progressive shock adapts the damper to the terrain, whereas a digressive shock’s dampening is static, especially noticeable on washboard like conditions. Also, the varying lift height with the adjustable 5100’s is achieved by adjusting the clip setting on the shock, which changes the compression of the coil over spring. While I agree that the TRD Pro suspension is overpriced, you can find take offs for not much more than you would pay for a new Bilstein 5000 series. I paid $550 for mine, including the hanger adapter. Once you have driven a truck with a progressive type suspension, you will never want to go back to a digressive shock.

 

Different strokes for different folks. Happiness is in the eye of the beholder. 5100’s are a great budget lift IMO. Been on trails I have no complaints. Also been on 3rd notch all the way up to 5th. No difference in ride IMO but who am I.
