Hello everyone! I'm new on this forum so looking forward to being a part of this.

I had a question regarding wheels and tires. Currently I have a new 2021 SR5 4x4 V6 Tacoma with stock 245/75R16 tires. I want to put on 265/75R16s Falken 3s. I know I will need a bigger wheel for the bigger tires.

What will I need to account for when adding the bigger wheels and tires to my SR5? Is there a difference in the wheel well size between the Sr5s and the TRD models? Is it possible?

PS. I told myself this is only a daily drive rig buuuut I can't help it. I'm going full send with this if it works out.

The TRD and SR5 16" are both 7" wide. You can run 265/75R16 no problem on your stock rims.

Do it. Also remove the chin spoiler to show off the new tires once you do this.

Thank you for the quick replies!

Interesting. From my research I thought the trd wheels were wider and they look like they are wider as well from what I see in person.

How does a 265mm wide tire manage to fit on a wheel made for 245mm wide tires?

    A few.
The 265s are almost an inch wider than the 245s. They fit no problem. I have a set of 265/75/16s on a set of trd pro wheels which are also 7 inches wide. Alot of people are running 285s on a 7 inch rim although that isnt advised by tire manufacturers.

I like the looks of this truck. Do you have it lifted or leveled?

Yes. I can't remember if it was at the point this pic was taken though. Either way, as it currently sits I have it on OME heavy springs in the back and 5100 Billys all the way around.

    That would do it.

266/75 r16 fits perfectly on the stock SR5 wheels. I really like the look of these wheels and the larger tire was a huge upgrade from stock.

I got 2010 fj cruiser wheels and new 265/70r16 with the same offset and also came from 245/75r16. No problem. 16x7 wheels are common among Toyota’s.

265/75/r16 bfg k02s love my tires especially on my stock sr5 wheels! I do plan on going with a different wheel setup but just haven't found "the right ones" yet still searching but no rush at all.

Don't know how these new cars/trucks work but on older cars, if you change tire diameters, the speedometer will be off a bit.
