Stupid beeping

Hello All,
First snow storm in the “new to me” Tacoma. Anyone know how to shut off the beeping from the traction control? I’m completely aware that my tires are slipping I don’t need the peep to stress me out. Couldn’t find it in the manual.

You can turn the radio up...

But in all seriousness I don't think there is a bypass for that beep. My workaround was to just take out the fuse for traction control... didn't need that stuff anyways in my 2wd during the winter.

 

I bought an oem style switch that fits into a blank location, then I wired it into the yaw sensor to interrupt the signal. When the switch is pressed the traction control and stability control is OFF. Properly off.

 

Any more details on this? I've checked the disable traction control threads but the info is different for early trd sports and I never found any info for later year models. Been wanting to do this for a while

That does actually. The one thread I never came across.

 

I went after the light green wire to the Yaw sensor under the drivers seat. Simply put a switch in it and you'll be good to go. When the circuit is interrupted a bunch of lights come on (ABS, TC, SC, etc...) but no codes are stored. Pressing the button again restores everything back to normal. Such a good mod.

 

Nice! Totally going to do this soon as I've got a bunch of wiring projects to do.

I want to be able to start the truck with all that stuff off by default.

So if you just cut the wire and leave as is do all the lights come on? I’m assuming yes just want to clarify.... I was gonna just cut and cap the wire

 

Just another point to clarify...maybe because it seems too simple, in my mind lol....

So breaking (switching, if you want the option) the ground wire going into the YAW sensor will turn off traction control and ABS? Again, it's not that I don't believe it...just seems too simple for such a nice benefit, so I wanted to check .

 

You got it. I interrupted the light green wire though. Doubt it's a ground.

 

I'll do that then. In the one thread it said something about breaking the ground...I assumed that's what you did. Much easier than going out to the under hood fuse box, tapping into that fuse....well, etc, etc, etc....we've all probably seen that thread too.
