But, you could have just put it, installed it, unrolled it in the bed and bingo bango, done.

I didn't know if it had hardware included inside the roll and didn't want to unroll it and then find out I needed tools to affix it to the bed proper.

And they had to dispose of the plastic bag. But I was still thinking there was mounting hardware in the roll and surprised it did not have any instructions or bolts. I had to get the bolt, 2 fender washers, and a nylock nut myself.

Probably said already but a bed cover would work. When I first got my mat I thought someone would take it. It’s heavy as hell tho.

I have a photo of the truck and can show everyone the bolt mod I did, but I don't have anyone to hold the camera and take the photo of the truck and me. Maybe not for some weeks. We have the virus bad here and have to socially distance. I got help putting the bolt on but might not have anyone to take a photo for a few weeks. I don't have a phone stand or anything fancy to hold the phone so I can't get in the photo.

I want to get a nice one, but they are expensive. And then it might get in the way of work things. So I did the bolt mod and it is holding the mat in the bed nice and tight. If people crawl under the trucks to steal a cat for $50 then they sure could just walk away with a $100 mat. It's less work.

Someone else told me the good solution to do the bolt mod and hopefully it can help more people so the mat stays where it's supposed to be.

Well it costs $4 to save the mat that is worth more than $100. I am trying to install a dash camera now but might need help figuring out where to put the wires. And then hopefully don't have to bolt on any more stuff.

No offense man but you are waaaaay overthinking this. It's just a piece of rubber to keep stuff from sliding around, 95% of people who look in the back of your truck won't even notice it much less want to steal it.

If you've already got a bolt in there, great, but it's not a complicated piece of equipment to worry about.
