Did you catch the livestream back in June, I think it was? Him and his bluegrass ensemble. It’s posted to YouTube.

Plenty of decent guitars in that price range. Taylor and Yamaha make quality entry level guitars.

Musicians 1’st choice in Augusta has some you could check out. No use spending a ton of money on something you might not stick with.

My biggest beef for any acoustic under say..$300, is that they always need a pro setup as the strings seem like they are a mile off the fretboard.

Even after spending 5-6 hrs in sweetwater, grabbing as many as I could, nothing under $300 was comfortable in my hands.
Bridge needs cut, nut needs cut, intonation and string height needs adjusted. Usually adding another $100+.

If acoustic guitar is your thang...spend the time in a music store, ask questions, play something for more than 30 mins.

I've had a Yamaha alto sax since I was in grade 7. I'm 46 now. My first guitar was a Yamaha FG800. Got it using credit card points. I've bought and sold a few guitars since, but still have the Yamaha. Pretty well set up right out of the box. No sub 300 dollar instrument should sound as good as it does. I still play it often.

If he was in Canada, I'd recommend going to Long and McQuaid. They offer a free set up within the first year from date of purchase. Don't know if there's dealers stateside that offer a similar deal.
