I just figured that if people know how much they cost then they would peek in the back and see if there was one in there to take. But yeah now they need a saw and I used a fender washer so they can't just pull the mat through the bolt.

I used a button head allen bolt and a nylock nut with a fender washer on each side. So even if they have an allen set, they need someone under the truck with a wrench on the nylock nut to get it off. And they can't cut the rubber near the bolt head with the fender washer.

I guess I'm just failing to see how this is going to stop anyone. if I threw my body weight into it I could still rip out a mat if it was only secured with a single bolt and washer.

Tweaker logic is weird and impossible to predict. Once they commit, they commit. And if they come up empty handed for the effort, then there's nothing like a busted taillight and a fat shit on the hood to voice their displeasure.

Good luck running away with a massive bedmat that weighs more than the truck itself

    Edit: poop thread

I.... I’m speechless at this point.

I hope his future threads are half as entertaining as this one.
I’m questioning whether or not he’s trolling us all at this point and just laughing at his chaos.
Brilliant thread really. @Rock Lobster nailed it in his break down earlier.

You realize that tailgates and cats are what really get stolen from these trucks....right?

Well that is too much work. I did the bolt mod and it should keep it where it is. And the mat smells bad, so I don't want the rubber smell in my house or cab. But thank you for the suggestion.

The tailgate locks, but I am going to get a hinge lock. And well yes I am concerned about the cat thefts since that would be an expensive repair.

It was all good until people started talking about getting fake poop. I learned how to secure the mat, so I am thankful. But fake poop could have worked. That is kind of thinking outside the box.

The mat was hard to drill through. And then it didn't make a hole like through wood. It was like a self sealing hole and took some work to get the bolt in. So I think with the fender washers they won't be able to pull or cut it out that easily. Maybe they could cut around it with a knife, but it is some hard dense rubber.

Oh. Ok. I don't need anything more now. My last truck I went crazy buying all kinds of parts and some were nice and most were a waste of money so I am just getting the really important things now and then waiting until the warranty is over to do anything for farm work and driving off road.

I could cut the mat around your washer in less than 30 seconds.
My last bed mat came out of a different truck so I had to cut it to fit. Cuts like butter.
