I am having trouble with the front of the habitat contacting the back of the cab right where the bed and habitat meet while off road. Constant bumping. It was not like this until I put the slide track back in on the front of the inside of the bed, which I now use all the time. Must of pushed it out slightly. I like where it sits and the rear hatch closes up nice. Any ideas other than sliding the habitat back on the bed? Its actually the rubber window seal bumping the rubber window seal of the truck.

...slightly hard time pictureing this, but does not sound right. by slide track on the front of the inside bed, you mean you put the OEM utility rail back in place across the front? With Habitat install that utility rail was removed and an aluminum flange placed for sealing the Habitat to the front of bed. maybe the constant bumping while offroading is due to the screws you used to place the utility rail? If the Habitat shell did not move from its installed location, it does not seem like that causes the bumping. Are your bed bolts tight? If the Habitat moved forward, it probably needs to be moved rearward. Your hold down clamps or bolts should be tight and there should be no shifting. If everything is constant in terms of original install, and the only thing changed is the replacement of the slide track...then I suggest removing the slide track and finding another solution for your use there...Just a Thought..Best of Luck

Just added side lights to mine and replaced interior lights. What’s everyone else’s mods they’ve done? Getting ready to install auxiliary power this weekend for it

@Austinpc24 still no lights. Refrigerator with dedicated battery/solar power is my central mod.

@sawbladeduller I'm not sure how to reply to your post but thanks for the input. Yes I am referring to that factory track. Mine does not have fasteners that attach to the front track, only the sides. I do have an aluminum flange but its not long enough to engage the holes for the track or the track itself with the nuts like the sides. Its tight and not moving so I think I just need to move it back. I just like how the rubber seals of the hatch and tailgate engage now so was trying not to mess with that. Ill see if I can get a pic uploaded. Im still trying to figure out how the forum works. Thanks for the input though.

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Looks solid. What size inverter did you roll with?
Also, just a thought. You could add a panel of plexy with spacers in front of all of your components should you want some protection from bumping into your nice wiring setup and still be able to see it.

Thanks! I personally didn’t add an inverted being I can run mostly everything if not everything off of dc power. The thing to the left is a marine battery charger in case I go somewhere with shore power I can hook up and charge my batteries and still use everything normally. Also I like the plexy glass idea but I think I’ll end up boxing it in completely.

Very nice, thanks for the response. I have been putting my setup together.
I had some leftover Battleborn LiPos and got hooked up with a RedArc Redvision setup.
I will post it up once I get it all set.

I suppose. That said, I highly doubt anyone’s going to offer me an insane amount of money for it. I bought it a couple years ago from the 2nd owner up in New York for $4200

Could you please PM me a few photos of how you have the RotoPax and Awning attached? I know I've seen both items mounted in various threads and on different sites but i'm spacing out where I remember seeing them. I'm looking to mount some items to the side since I lost some Prinsu space when I chopped it to fit the Hab

excellent, thanks! I'll be trying to mount an OVS 180-degree awning soon. It's gonna have to stick out pretty far to clear the strut and latches

WHEW! Took 4 hours today, but the wife and I were able to get our Habitat patched up!

Hopefully this will set minds at ease of the prospective buyers... Shameless plug here. If anyone is interested, my Habitat is still for sale, and now repaired!

The Speedy Stitcher worked awesome, BTW. If anyone ever needs to repair their tent, I highly recommend it. It stitches like a sewing machine.

If anyone you know is looking for a Habitat for a DCSB Tacoma, feel free to point them my way! My wife and I are eager to put down a deposit on the Scout Yoho Camper, I hear they are already about 6 months out on builds.
