vF Tuner for the 3.5L Tacoma

I never even installed vfTuner. I received a Reg code for it, but never messed with it. My credits will hopefully still be there. He doesn't make people pay again if they update with a TSB, does he? That would be kinda screwed up IMO, so I hope that's not the case.

That said, I can't even figure out where to download the damn vfTuner software....lol.. any hints on that would be much appreciated.

I waited to register, use vf tune, until after I updated, and settled 04b33 into the truck. I kept waiting for the finished 2.0 to come out, to just flash 04B31 with ov tune software. but, I became impatient from watching all the other cool kids with new ecu cals, and tunes... i had "tune envy" and FOMO REALLY BAD!

the guys here have been very helpful, getting me up and running. sounds like you are in the same situation as I was. just go through the instructions get the updated most current vf software, after you identify, and unlock your 04b33 ecu (using 4 credits). request your 04b33 tune pack. then you can use one of Mats base tunes, augment your own, or request help with one of the superusers, for a tune specific to your needs.

really glad i waited so i had 04b33 to start with. now i have the "tune bug" getting/requesting tunes, and testing them to see my likes and dislikes. @PapaRee was very helpful for me starting out. @uploadadventure, @Mooseditty17, @tonered, @Shellshock, are all superusers of this hardware software, and really help our community A LOT! my hat is off to all of them! Waiting on the latest TSB tunes and getting them was a big plus on my side.

 

Appreciate the link. I installed 1.2.7.8 and provided the master key. Looks like I still have the 5 credits given to me when I bought the software last year. I also sent an email to Zendesk asking for the B33 tune pack.

In the meantime, I need to figure out how to unlock the B33. Reading instructions now.

I just unlocked B33 in the latest version of vfT, so I think I'll be good to go once I receive the B33 tune pack from Mat. Good stuff.

Our website / products are temporarily going to be down while we work on our software updates.

 

So I guess this is why I haven't gotten the reg file or the tuner files I purchased a week ago.

 

The reg key is handled by an outside party which we are at the mercy of when we get it.

The software update we are working for is to get rid of that part of the process.

 

Any idea when this will finalize?

That is why we are taking things down temporarily to update everything, clear out tickets, etc.

We will be taking this time to fix our email client, issues with emails going to spam or not being received, etc.

 

Since I'm doing this from work... Just a question... I upgraded to a new laptop, how do I register it? Should I use the key I was sent before? I would try the OV website, but work has that site blocked. Thanks

 

The vftuner.com site is down for updates at the moment.

You're MasterKey, username, and password are all the same, but you will need a new REG file to flash.

 

@OVTune will I be able to use a Mongoose Pro cable instead of buying an Xentry? Friend who is a Toyota tech at a dealership has the mongoose pro and I could grab that for free and save $ if you tell me it can work. I’d think it SHOULD...it’s what he uses to read/change/update every car he works on, but just wanted to ask awhile.

Waiting for the new, simple, cleaned up version of stuff coming soon from you guys, and then when an 87 performance 04C20 file is ready (hopefully with gear hold and stuff) I’ll be buying!

 

you can use a mongoose to flash but not datalog.
