A little something every chance we get.
Yep, North of us was something very nice that doesn't happen often. I was glad to be at the ragged edge today, because our son works in South Austin, and drivers are notoriously "good" in snow or slush. Last time, I was still working, and I knew I was staying home anyway (which still meant working), so the 3" to 4" we got was nice and beautiful!

Good morning and welcome to another week of 2021!! Hope it's a good one!!

I'm heading into the college I retired from - my former executive assistant is going to notarize a document I need to submit with the packet to the Civilian Marksmanship Program to try to get one of the old Army M1911A1s they have coming up for sale. It's a random draw and my luck at hose things isn't typically good, but, heck, I'll give it a shot.

Lynn and I are both looking forward to getting out to golf this spring. Lynn started playing last fall and it's been fun hitting the courses with her.

    Stay safe and warm!!

    Morning all!
My wife had shingles...I got the shots as soon as I turned 60. Wouldn't want to go thru that at all-gout is bad enough for me.
We bought my farther in law a small tv at BJ's for 112 bucks. Was the size of a computer monitor.Works great!
Not much going on here. Keeping the stove going and the yard clear of snow. Need to get the truck washed as it looks like crap. Hope it warms up enough soon.

Welcome to tbe porch Bob @robe689. Pull up a cnair a d chat. Life is good on the porch.

Good luck at the draw Mark. The M1911 will be a nice addition to your collection. I haven't been on a golf course in 5 or 6 years. Need to get out there and see if I can still hit the ball more than 4 feet. It's nice that Lynn took an interest in golf and you have a partner. Deb does 't even like miniature golf. If you want to try a different couse thats pretty decent, I have played a couple of rounds at the Mill Race Golf Course on Rte 487 in Benton and it was a nice course.

Have a great day all. Be safe.

Yes on occasion. I usually have the butcher cut across the bone into about 1.5" steaks. Most times there are two steaks where the bone is still present. Yesterday I used the Weber kettle and had them in a dry brine overnight before cooking. I really like Char Siew Pork and will do an oriental marinade them hang them in the WSM to cook.20200418_135513.jpg

Good Morning Porchies! Looking forward to getting off 33* and into the 40*'s! Kept the fire going in the fireplace until midnight, and then turned the heat up for the sleepers. Just have to check on things today when it warms up, do some garage putzing (because it's too cold for all day in there!)

Also glad to see your wife enjoyed picking up golf Mark. The second set is cut short from when my son tried it, and will fit my short wife. As long as all this distancing keeps up, it will be good to get her out of the house with me - because about the only place we've gone together last year was the hospital!

Can like the first part of your post Kurt, but not the going to the hospital together part. Hope you both stay healthy. Be safe and enjoy the putzing(haven't heard that word in awhile).

All this talk of golf has got me thinking about dusting my clubs off.
It takes a lot of balls to play golf the way I do!

Oh, that sounded worse than intended.... We both had the wonderful timing to need our colonoscopies last year, and the other visit was that vascular arthroscopy I had done, so really not "terrible" visits!

Pretty much all the guys in my family play golf. Except me. I have never seen the sense of chasing a little white ball around a big green field.

Only men who wear skirts could invent anything as boring.

Well obviously you've never met my group. Golf is just an excuse to drink beer all day & get away from the wife.

That's what fishing is for. Just make sure to bring one home every now and then just to keep up the charade.
