I'm reading that Titan build, that's must be nice to have access to a water jet and somebody that knows cad.

I also noticed, unless the pics and story are out of order, that they finished welded the link mounts before they started on the links. I thought the name of the game was to tack everything, check for bind/clearance, then finish weld

 

Yeah, I wasn't really reading all the other shit..Just how he got the Nissan Tone rings to work in the 60's and the steering. I just think I'm gonna wing it if I do it.

 

I learned something new, I've never heard of them being called tone rings. Is your heart set on keeping abs? You could cover up the dash light with a cool sticker lol

Have you had any more chances to wrench on your truck? Is the squeal still there?

 

Truck won't got over 30 mph without it. Titan has 4 individual sensors, 1 for each wheel. Without a reading it puts it in a "limp mode". Speedo won't work either.

Definitely doing a 60 in a rear as well.

Your telling me, the transmission alone has 4 computers. It drives me crazy, something is always on the fritz.

 

That's nuts, I wonder how many the Tacos have. I wish there were a way to plug a laptop into the obd2 and have full access to everything like disabling and enabling whatever the heck possible.

 

Yeah the squeal went away with the alignment and i took the top plate off so now my UCAs and coils dont touch at all. Next is just the rear end and the bumpers. Sarah from all pro said they are going to ship today. so i will probably get them next week.

I was thinking about figuring out a way to "lie" to the abs sensor but I can't really think of anything yet.

sortof off topic from that, but my roommate got a bluetooth transmitter that plugs into the obdII, then downloaded a free app on his droid. he can now look at all of the info that goes through the obdII.

i discovered something kindof cool. the boost pressure goes through our obdII. mine at idle, was -11. we went for a drive, and as we went faster, got closer and closer to zero. this really surprised me, because i've alway been under the assumption that the scoop will never work. does anyone know what a stock intake boost pressure is? i'm assuming stock at idle will be about -11 as well, since my intake is nearly the same length as stock. i'm just curious if it gets better when you go faster.

 

That's not boost Colin, it's vacuum.

 

i know that. all non-forced indection systems are vacumes. it's just called boost on his little phone app.

edit: if it were called vacume pressure it would be 11, but in terms of boost it's -11.

 

I have something similar that works with wifi and my phone. There is also a data logger for my laptop but that's $100. I've been trying to figure a way around it

That's the vacuum that it's reading. If it didn't go down your truck wouldn't be sucking anymore air than idle.

 

That's kind of why "Ram Air" will net you a quicker 1/4, just cramming it in the faster you go but you can't go past the atmospheric pressure without forced induction..

 

or a leaf blower which I guess is forced. I think if you had a big enough scoop and were going faster you may be able to get it .something over atm.
