It’s totaled. Buy it back from the insurance and make it into a trail pig

Honestly it doesn’t look that bad, it happens.
I’ll gladly trade this damage to the $3000 detail job my work had to pay after my last car, 2 months old, was coated in black spray paint from careless maintenance workers

It’s not that bad. I’m just sad that I took really good care of it. It wouldn’t hurt as much if I caused the damage myself. My wife is a really cautious driver.

Your wife feels bad enough. No need to add to it by making a big deal about it (Even if it is to you). Should've gotten an SR5, this wouldn't have happened.

You will be. She absolutely must feel horrible though. Have her go out and buy you the closest color matched nail polish as possible to make it up to you. Either that or a small bottle of the paint from a paint shop.

No sweat. Those come off in 2 min. I dinged one a few months after I got mine. Bought an aftermarket one that fit exact and had perfect matching texture for $70. I took the old damaged one off and gave it to the paint shop with the new part and they matched it for about $100 and I put the new one on. Never know it happened.

When I had my '14 Spruce Mica Taco my lovely wife dented the shit out of the passenger side door. We were in a shopping center parking lot and she didn't realize I was parked next to a U.S. mailbox that had a few those concrete protective pillars around it.

She almost cried because she knows I'm pretty O.C.D. about my vehicles. I never even bothered to get it fixed.

I used to mess with her though and say "Holy shit what happened to that door"...lol

I’m not mad at her. She knows how much it means to me. I shrugged it off and walked away but it hurts inside.

The irony of the scratches being inches from the proximity sensor..

If it were me I’d kiss my wife and just order the new piece. Done deal.

I’d also feel the same as you.

I would be using this as an argument for a new high clearance rear bumper.

But in all seriousness, that don’t look like much of anything.

Yes I agree, but it also stings on a $40k truck too.

Well it sucks but at least it's something that can be easily removed and repaired or replaced. Good thing it wasn't a fender or door panel. Tell her of all the painted surfaces she could've damaged its probably the cheapest and easiest to repair. Might make you both feel better. :hattip:
