If I get it to lock could I just remove the front driveshaft and run it 2wd?

Yeah, if it locks and drives fine then you have a sheared front drive flange. They're what the CV engages to drive the front hub, they're like $45 new and take an hour to change at the most.

Yeah but one of those would allow the driveshaft to spin and would register something on the speedo while stationary but that isn't going on at all it feels like you're trying to accelerate with the ebrake on but it doesn't move period

The rear one is the only one that registers speed, if the front is spinning because the drive flange is sheared you won't see speedo and the truck will not move. Try what I suggested, if the upper case is seized then it won't matter, but I doubt it is.

Thanks, I may take you up on that down the road. Currently I need to set up the school calendar to send me reminders so I don't miss a quiz again lol

If a drive flange is broken a cv would be spinning without powering the wheel right?

@Running Board Man I feel like I have to say this... Don't do any of this unless it's in park while you're under there. It will take off if you engage it successfully.

That's awesome, I appreciate you throwing me a bone... so far the first essay was read a short story, then copy that writing style to write your own shorter story about a similarly impacting moment

With the ebrake on in gear I looked under the truck and nothing was moving and it isn't revving freely

You might actually have a siezed trans output or tcase input then. Congratulations you managed to destroy something so incredibly stout that rebuild kits hadn't even needed to be a thing until over 500k

That's what it feels like... Feels like the tcase is one billet that the transmission cannot overcome in order to turn the driveshafts
