So if it actually welded together wouldn't all the wheels lock up? Or do I just not understand how their drivetrain works..... I've honestly never seen one in person other than your burgundy one

Key piece of info I havnt brought up

I wouldn't let a t case leak gear lube for as long as I can remember without filling it every now and again

She said it recently stopped leaking so the transmission additives must have worked

And there's nothing you can say that can convince her that the lucas bottle she shoved down the trans dipstick didn't stop the gear lube leak that the tcase and entire undercarrige is soaked in that all of a sudden stopped leaking not too long ago

It would be really hard to weld one together unless it was just entirely out of fluid. My guess is it overheated at one point and the oil pump failed so it never got lubrication to the input shaft, which would cause it to seize in its bearing.

The transfer case and the transmission do not share fluid. If it was actually the transfer case that was leaking and not the trans then that might have been the end of it

It's locked up when in high and low range but neutral when in neutral (only on the t case)

She doesn't comprehend that and believes the gear lube that's coated the garge floor (that I've been slipping on) for more than the past decade is from the transmission and stopped leaking because of the atf additives (there are maybe 4/5 bottle of empty transmission additives in the garage) stopped it and not that it's out of fluid

There's no helping that poor truck

I'm so glad my mom listens to me when it comes to technology and vehicles. Not much else, but at least there is that.

@Speedytech7 You ever get anywhere with the wiki idea? I still throw around in my head alot, but feel like maintenance of an actual website would be a huge commitement - but then my brain starts thinking about making a github repo.

Really just haven't had the time to think about how I broach collaboration. Everything on TW technically belongs to the forum owner and to start a wiki without writing everything myself there'd have to be some sharing. Ultimately Bob would need to be involved. Or I'd have to copy everyone's homework but you know change it so it looks different :p

Yeah, thats definitely an important aspect. I feel like people would be happy to contribute, but it would be awkward with out the blessing of his bobliness.

Really it could go both ways though, because of forum can integrate with a wiki so you could Link tech articles or essentially have them be embedded

Yeah that would be the ideal case for sure. Sure would save a lot of repetition.

    I have mods
Still feeling like I got run over by a truck this morning. Got 10 hours of sleep tho. I'm quarantined until I get 2 neg covid tests in a 48 hour period per the nurse at work that I called last night. More of a precautionary thing. Pretty sure I have a stomach bug and not covid. No fever, I can still taste and smell. First test is setup for 11am at an urgent care down the road. I'll setup another one for tomorrow.
