    One of the guys I fly with tows an R-Pod with his second gen and, aside from whining about gas mileage, says its easy peasy. He tows to FL a couple times per year usually (about 1000 miles)

    My rpod weighs 3250 loaded & 400 tongue weight. Absolutely no problem. All the towing has been flatland with assist from the OVTune & helper springs. MPG is the shits.

    The helper springs keep it level under the load. I noticed some rear leaf sag in the 2nd season of towing so installed the helpers. It worked for me.

    I’ve not towed without an OVTune so I can’t say if it’s required or not. However, based on my truck’s solo performance without an OVTune, I would find it less desirable to tow with just the stock tune. An OV gearlock tune is likely the best. The one I use now though has been modified for towing without gearlock.
