I personally enjoy 9mm the most. I think it’s plenty but you’ll always meet the “45 because why not” crowd which is fine too. I have a 1911 in 45 on my short list to buy but for the all around gun I prefer 9. I have both a single stack (Ruger SR9C) as well as a double stack (G26) and have no issues with either. They both seem to fit the hand well. More important than width for me is to have the pinky on the grip so both guns have mag extensions to accommodate the full hand. I echo what most others have said though, get to a range when possible and shoot the guns you’re interested in. I would also stick with the bigger companies and the guns you listed before are good options. Ammo will return, reloading is always a good thought but you can find ammo and will be fine in the long run.

Well enough people echoed that the Allroad should be avoided so I’m off that trail.

    BMW 3 series wagon?!

I am stuck on the idea of an AWD wagon right now.

Hey Chris, where do you shoot? I am a member of Springfield Gun club in Monson and love it there. Maybe we should get a pew pew session going soon lol

I actually have a coworker who shoots there and we were just talking about their club. I’ve been a member at Swift River in Belchertown as well as Norwottuck. I’m looking for a new club now with an indoor range closer to the Springfield area. Absolutely down for a range day!

Edit — man I miss shooting at the S&W ranges.

Agreed.....S&W was nice. indoor ranges are ok but I feel that I can always rent a lane down at Hot Brass if it is cold out for that. I love SGC in Monson. The pistol ranges are fantastic, the 100 yard is perfect for bringing anything to shoot (except for cans or glass) and their 5 stand is second to none. I love to watch the police train over there as well. Before COVID, I could take up to three guests with me as long as they fill out the waiver form. Now I can only bring one but it is still great. The best was when the had their family day. Two years ago it was sponsored by Ruger and S&W and you could shoot 5 rounds of any firearm they brought (which was like 20+ each vendor) not to mention you could also shoot a .50 cal for $5 a shot. That thing is a beast. PM me your cell and we can head over sometime soon.

I really want to shoot the S&W 500, just because. I have no interest or desire to own one (not unless I come into FU money at some point in my lifetime). I really want to shoot the 500 and also the Desert Eagle although that one has a massive grip and I'm not sure I'd enjoy shooting that one.

I love 9mm and my Ruger SR9 is awesome! Mine is the full size, so I can fit 17 round magazines flush with the bottom of the grip. But don't say 17 round pistol magazines in MA, they'll have a stroke trying to rush SWAT to your doorstep fast enough... :jerkoff:

Side note: anyone interested in my pre-ban AR mags? I want to replace my mag collection with some new fancy Magpul mags, and because I live in freedomland, I can.

I shoot in the woods or sand pits. It's legit!
I have a 6" S&W .357 and I love it. I got it for a stupid good deal used and the shop was going out of business. I couldn't say no. :notsure:

A 500 is a bit much lol. Even a 44 is pretty aggressive. I shot a snub nose 44 with the AZ TW people when I went out there a few years ago. Of course, I was excited and forgot ears... I could hear predominantly ringing in my head for 2 days :goingcrazy:

Pump action shotgun noise is universal for GTFO, same with racking a slide on a pistol. Revolvers don't really have anything like that which I guess is preference, but that's why I like the others.

Cocking back the hammer is pretty universally scary :notsure:

I also have a Mossberg 500, an AR15, and 3 other pistols ready to go with little effort needed. (not having fuck trophies around the house is pretty nice sometimes).

Also, I am in desperate need for a safe  :anonymous::quickdraw:

If I heard someone charge an AR, I'd probably crap myself while at a full sprint.

That's true. I guess I was thinking of the movies when people cock back the hammer as a way of punctuating lines, usually multiple times in a row.

Me also, but also because it's loud as well. It's a mentality of using deterrents first and hopefully that's as far as it goes (hopefully you never end up with unwanted people in your house to begin with)

Yeah, having a striker-fired gun make a cocking noise for a 'click-hello' moment is one of my pet peeves in films.

It's right up there with holding someone at shotgun point, then racking the slide to prove that they're 'serious' (which means that they were stupid enough not to have a round in the chamber in the first place)

I also love how quiet they make silencers in films. Like whisper quiet, not even getting the attention of people sitting quietly in the next room.

I'd rather there's no sound, or kept locked and loaded. You're in my house, you're an imminent threat to my family. No warning for you.
