USB under the AC controls - 86190-0R010 - Will this work

Is anyone familiar as to if this will fit it the blanks under the AC controls in a 2nd gen (2010) model? Mine just has the AUX plug and i was thinking of trying this to add aftermarket USB controls to it. I was thinking i could take it apart and add the USB plug to it running from an aftermarket radio if the size is correct.

That one looks like it fits to the left of the steering wheel and only does charging. Looking for one that does data and fits under the AC controls to replace the current AUX plug

Looks like it does both but still the larger one that fits to the left vs under the AC controls. The ones under the AC are smaller in height.

LOL thats what i was trying to avoid. I saw the seller had the one specific for my truck (

Same here, How are you liking the Fog Light Mod? Did you run it to the towing package so the park lights need to be on in order for the fogs to work? Im debating on doing that next but i dont want true anytime fogs where they work if the switch is on so i dont forget to turn them off.

 

Just finished the mod, and did a small write up contribution to the thread. You can go to the Battery Charger fuse instead of AC inverter or towing package. It is true Anytime fog- as long as the key is in the Acc position. Straight to switched power, nothing else is needed.

 

Thats what i worry about is forgetting and leaving them on vs having them tied in to the park lights. I may have to research more.

 

You don’t have to worry about leaving them on.. switched power means that when you shut the truck off, they turn off. You physically cannot forget and leave them on.

Edit- unless you mean forgetting and leaving them on while you’re driving. In that case, splice into the daytime running lights.

Ahhh i get it you need it to work with your head unit. Was going to say 60 bucks seems pretty steep with no quick charge. I just found this but not sure if it will work with my 08 says its 2011+ Center board buttons. I don’t need controls though

I have a USB i bought for quick charging that i will add under there as well. This onewill work with the OEM radio for USB but i think i can take it apart and fit an aftermarket USB cable in the opening to run from a Alpine radio later.
