I’m thinking about getting rid of mine. It’s the gray color, has some wear but still works great. I just had it on The Mojave Road. Otherwise it’s stored in the garage.

I know the 4runner market is hot, but is it so hot that dealers are asking >$5k over KBB and claiming fair market value? Is KBB useless when researching used 4runner values?

 

I’m in Castro Valley, but @jayway already made arrangements to come and get it.

Yup. If you do a search "Is KBB accurate" pretty much all the responses say no.
They make their money off advertising and marketing.

 

When you get those drip moldings let me know. I've got the punch you need for making dem holes

What I thought was a super overpriced 4Runner sold quickly and I asked the dealer how they determine market value. They told me "We use KBB, Edmonds, BlackBook, NADA. A team at Corporate Uses the market to help find the best prices."

Starting to help my gf find a 4Runner.

 

Yeah, a combination of all those is a good start.
In the end it comes down to what it’s worth to the buyer and the seller.

When I was looking for super low mileage 1 owner first gens, I used ebay and bring a trailer as reference points for how much people are actually willing to pay since they are all so over priced here.
