I was born and razed in Riverside My parents still live there. @eon_blue Ryan is correct its hot 8 months a year. I think mid summer its about 105F for weeks at a time. Its a lot like Sacramento. As for being getto there are parts that are less desirable,b ut there are a lot of nice parts also. The Santa Anna river is more of a dirty creak that runs all the way to Huntington Beach.

When my girl and I went to Shaver Lake, there was some garbage (bottles and caps mainly) along the water's edge that we picked up. Always carry extra garbage bags in my truck with me.

That shit requires a team though

 

this is the shit that is going to get all our outdoor recreation areas closed. Same shit happens here too.

Fucking assholes

 

The trash is bad enough but graffiti on the rocks and trees? Humanity is so fucked

 

Same for hiking trails that share the same routes for back packing. Makes me cringe like a MF when I'm like "god damnit I can't be picking up all this shit"

 

There's a shit ton of graffiti at Empire Cave in Santa Cruz unfortunately.

 

People Suck, this is the same shit we deal with all summer up here.
