Is this seriously a $90k dollar price tag on a Tacoma?!

    upload_2021-1-11_8-34-26.jpg

This really is a whole other "World" compared to my $4k a year ago 2002 5 lug with built in "heritage"...

PRO's didn't come out till 17. Some small external changes, grille changes, tail light color change between all trims, center back window if it had the latch or not, 16's didn't have automatic rear windows for TRD / limited trims, I think more trims have them now maybe, TSS on front grille's. There are more but just off the top of my head for a first glance. I usually look when I'm out and about for the little things. At first glance mine might look like a 20-21

Remove the badges. I removed all but the "Tacoma" on the doors as I think it looks good with them. No badges is cleaner, and is easier to keep clean as well. Have you ever cleaned a car with 10 y/o badges.

I have a SR5, so having SR5 on the rear doors and 4x4 on the rear tailgate make it stand out as a lesser trim. Remove them and don't pretend to be something you're not.

From any other car platform putting something like AMG on your base model Mercedes or my favorite STI on a WRX just makes you look like a poser and if I were judging this persons car, I would think you know nothing about cars.

It's a Photoshop joke that's priced about 20k too high. Here is the real Heritage edition Land Cruiser. FWIW, I've probably dropped more than 20k into my build, including parts and labor. 4k on the gears alone.

I could care less however I will think that you are a muppet. Its one thing to add TRD badging but to add "Sport" or "OR" badging would look stupid.

The vote looks roughly 50/50.. which likely may not sway anyones mind!

No matter what you do with your truck you will never please everyone simultaneously since we all have different views and things we like about our rigs. You must focus your efforts on things that you believe will make you happy, and not worry so much about the view points of others or small concerns that amount to nothing at the end of the day.

Enjoy, accept, and appreciate all Tacoma World has to offer!!

Is having TRD Pro all-weather mats in a TRD Off Road considered "up-badging"? They were the same price as the standard all-weather mats and I like the way they look.

It's your vehicle. I don't mind upbadging as long as you are not trying to dupe anyone when selling

Do what you want with your truck.

That being said, it’s pretty lame. Who gives a crap if it’s an off-road or sport? I’ve seen some bad ass sr riding around that I’d gladly take over a pro.

It makes me think of the dudes who I grew up with that took their old chevy and tossed on a hood scoop with racing stripes and tried convincing people it was an SS.

If you plan on selling the truck one day, why even bother? Every stealership will be peeved that the badges are gone, since it will be a leverage point for the next Joe Shmo. And who doesn't want the most money for their lovely taco, our valuation of our trucks never matches what Big Brother offers so you may want every inch of selling power

I personally wouldn’t consider that up-badging. The only thing I would consider up-badging would be the actual OEM TRD Pro door badges or head rests. Everything else is fair game.
