Long story short I bent my rear axle housing and I found a pretty good deal on a 09 trd sport complete axle assembly. Would it be possible to bolt up my e lock diff/third member into the housing and swap my axle shafts from my 09 4x4 trd off road? I read somewhere that the axle shaft are different sizes.

I think OP wants to swap the guts in his OffRoad rear axle into the rear axle housing of a Sport model.

I'm still learning this too, but I dont think its possible because the OR is 8" rear diff and the Sport is an 8.4"?

But I think it's possible to swap the complete Sport rear axle into the Offroad. You cant just do the guts and retain the housing.

Please correct me if I'm wrong.

    Hey,
I just did a lot of research on this when I was looking to swap my 3rd member.
    The axle housings are different,
The one w/ the electronic differential is different than the one you are looking at.
BUT if you are a good fabricator and have all the needed tools, you could make it work BUT that would not be a fun/easy job
