Where did you spec that out, a local dealer page? Maybe it’s a regional thing but I don’t get half those options off Toyota.com

Some of those items don’t even make sense..... the console safe? I paid less than that directly through Locker Down.

I also hate seeing $2100 for rims and tires. The base price includes the OEM Off Road rims with Goodyear Wranglers, so the $2100 add on replaces those without taking that already paid for amount into consideration.

When I spec’d it out I was able to add the bead lock rims for $1000 but no tire “upgrade”.

I wouldn’t say Tacoma’s have doubled in price from 20 years ago when back then you couldn’t add all these little trinkets to the truck from the factory.

You can literally opt out of the premium package ($5,100) and all those accessories... That's what I did. I got my 2019 TRD OR DCSB for $38,000 including taxes. I did get the tow package and weathertech floor mats, but opted out of everything else. I've literally upgraded my truck over the past 2 years with way better parts than what they were trying to sell me.

Buy what you want, do what you want with it, call it a day.

I saw an SR listed for 41 and some change. I am pretty sure it was a misprint on the site as there was not much info on the vehicle. For a moment I thought I found a Cement SR access cab with SX pkg.

I feel like I got my 2018 at the perfect time for tacoma prices... 33k total out the door for my truck brand new. Same truck in a 2021 form is 40k plus fees, taxes, delivery and all that crap.

over 10k increase in 3 years. Thats a 33% price increase If they are jacking the price up 3k a year, I cant wait to see what they want to sell 4th gens for.

SE Toyota would be a separate entity from Toyota themselves. Its another middleman for several states in the SE USA.

Looks like the base moved up quite a bit.

My 16 sport- middle tier spec'd was 32 (tech package but not premium)
My 18, also middle tier spec, was 35.

Looks like this years price will be between 39-40 for the same truck.

I remember purchasing my TRD Offroad Tacoma in 2013 with every option minus the JBL sound for 28K.

Seems those days are long gone and prices have gone thru the roof.

I blame instagram. There are a few insta trucks around here with rooftop tents and recovery boards that have never been used.

Inflation alone would make 25k go to almost 37k over a 20 year period... I paid under 37k for my OR and got a bigger, safer, and more fuel efficient truck, so I actually feel pretty good about prices.

Real lesson is don't get dealer options.

I don’t think your photo supports your point... there’s more pool table hanging off than there is in the bed. You made it work but a longer bed would’ve made it easier.

Plus short beds are too short to fit a pair of skis which makes them useless to me. I think it’s so dumb seeing all the DCSB bros on the way to the mountain with a loaded roof rack and an empty bed.

not to mention the weekly “can I camp in my short bed” threads.
