Maybe not quite as fast a sled, but it can sure as hell haul a lot more people and gear, and tow a domestic full size truck in the bargain! :D

Looks liks some tasty early season pow...that pillow line looks FUN! Man I need to get up to the interior this winter.

That was an awesome video! Great work!

An a great rig. I can't believe it was moving through deep snow like that and even pulling out a heavier rig. You got balls too. What would you do if the Taco got stuck? Start digging I guess!

I stand corrected.. it was a 2500HD! It was definitely some good times!

Hey thank you! It was pretty amazing to find out the Tacoma was floating on 3' of snow. Had all our ski touring gear, so that wouldn't be too bad. I did have the winch and the hi-lift recovery gear as well.

    :D

Check out my pics, I have one or 2 of the front in there. Let me know if you want more.

A snowblade has nothing on this btw. It's gnarly.

haha at least i saw the light and own a toyota now

when i bought that truck in april 2008, gas was $4 / gal in california. 4cyl xcabs are already kinda rare on trucks, and they were going for a premium due to the high gas prices. Its a 99 and i got it for $4500 with 90k on it ... every toyota or nissan i looked at that was the same age, for that price i would have wound up with a single cab with 200k or more, cant do a single cab due to being 6' 6"

2 months after buying it i drove to wisconsin, and once my summer job was over, drove back to ca .... so it hold a lil bit of sentimental value cause its the longest trip ive taken in any of my rigs.

When I was looking for a new truck in late '07 I was looking at nothing but rangers and the 2 I test drove (one 2wd edge model xtra cab w/ ~70k miles for 5k and the other a 4x4 single cab with about 90k for the same price) were both just absolute dogs. They were both v6 5 speeds too! Im very glad I upped my budget and waited for the taco lol.

any way, back to snow pics! If it would hurry up and snow here I could post up!

im guessing the rigs you drove were the 3.0l v6 .. those were indeed dogs but the 4.0 werent bad, just the manual trans ones had slave cyl issues.

Nope, they were 4.0. I don't know, it might be because I was used to the torque of the I6 in the bronco I was driving at the time.

you will do fine with the stock tires , 3/4 tread would be nice. as far as snow goes portland get 1or 2 good storms 6 to12'' a year . as to the driving GO SLOW GO SLOW. leave 20 min early. the 4wee drive will help the go but not the whoa. i know i see it ever storm---i plow the roads for the state of maine D.O.T. hope you have fun .
