Depends on how you define “loaded”.

A TRD Off-Road with the most expensive Tech Package, DCSB 4WD is showing as $43k with destination. With the factor tri-fold.

You added a bunch of weird add on “accessories” that aren’t from Toyota. Even the all weather mats in your build were $360 but on Toyota.com they are $160.

When did they start offering center console safes as a dealer installed option? Is that regionally based? Is that a 2021 option? Anyone have a part number? I'm curious if its made by Toyota. I didn't have that option on my 2020.

TRD Pro suspension with Headstrong 3 Leaf AAL, DV8 OR front slimline bumper & Engine Skid Plate, RCI OR high clearance bumper, CaliRaised Trail Edition Sliders, Spidertrax 1.25" Wheel Spacers, 265/75 16 GY Duratracs, wrapped the OEM wheels, OR Roof Rack, Extang Exceed Hard top Tri fold tonneau.
It seems pricing on dealer added accessories varies wildly from dealer to dealer. The base price on a TRD OR is still pretty reasonable. I purchased my 2020 with a MRSP of just under $40k for $32.5K, plus TTL at the beginning of the COVID shutdown in April of last year. I would believe that once supply gets back to normal levels, pricing will also return to normal levels as well. If a person isn’t in a situation where they had to buy something immediately, I would recommend to wait things out until later in the year.

This for me, I would define as fully loaded. If I were ordering a OR this is how I would order it.
Only 2 port installed options, flaps and steps.
    Still 45K.
    And it is from Toyota.com

Im sure its been said, but many of these addons can be purchased seperately and very easily installed. (ie mud guards, tailgate lock, bed lights). Also skip the predator steps that you're just gonna replace with sliders ;)

This seems high, but the average new car price in the US was just over 40k last year. So people who buy new and can afford new, pay for more expensive cars now. If toyota made a 19k tacoma with nothing but the minimum required fittings, they wouldn’t make any money off it or sell any. When people pay for cars per month and cars last so much longer than they once did over all, they get longer payouts and lower payments and higher costs.

I’m pricing a work truck right now, and no matter how I set it up, no matter the make or size or set up, a work truck is 40k give or take a few grand. Ford F-250, or f150, Chevy 2500, ram, tundra, titan (who am I kidding I would never have a titan work truck) they all run around 40k with no carpet or extras other than towing options. Mostly single cab. I’m sure the trucks I have to replace where half that new 20 years ago, but they are money pits and about to be uninsurable for us. So what choice do we have when used 80k mile trucks are only 3 grand less.

FWIW- I used the "Build" feature on the Toyota web site to "build" a 2021 OR with most of the features/functions/options that come standard on the TRD Pro--except the suspension. And, I wound up with a total price actually higher than the TRD Pro base price. That bit of calculation helped convince us to get a Pro--and we love it. We had to order it and only added one option: the remote tailgate lock.

a 6' bed would be perfect for everything I do. Our ABC Canopy we use for craft fairs is slightly over 5' in its bag so I cannot slide it into the bed and put totes around it and pack effciently. It has to go sideways in the bed

Of course this is a subjective statement, but I'm curious to know why a bed which is but 1' shorter, but the same width, would be considered useless? Not everyone needs or wants to make 4 point turns to get in and out of parking lots. And some of us want a manual transmission :hattip:

Agree with you. Especially in areas where you can get $2,000-$3000 off on a Pro.
10% off a 48K OR is Ballpark Pro MSRP.

My 1st Gen I bought new. Loaded 2004 TRD OR.
My 3rd Gen I bought new. Loaded 2021 TRD OR.
After having the 3rd Gen around a week or so, I jumped into the 1st Gen for a trip to town. When I got back to the home stead, I parked and walked away, turning to look back, at both trucks, side by side.

While both trucks are nice, technology or not, the 1st Gen is more of a truck, and it's still as purchased with factory options.
    YMMV

My 2020 Pro AT's MSRP was $52k and came with all the accessories you picked Op, with the exception of the black overlays, clear paint protection - full hood (but I did get the door sill protection), and bed step.

    Damn.

Right and if you need to haul more than that get a damn trailer. 6' beds are great for the average mall crawler or helping your friends move but for off roading I'll take the short bed.

    I agree with you sir.

The only time when the 6ft bed would make a difference, if you need to haul your quad or bike with the tailgate up. Other than that 5ft is perfectly fine and like you said, better offroad.

Paid $21,500 in 2003 for a TRD OR access cab. Loved that truck.
