    Hmm . . . none as yet, that's why i'm here . . .
retap existing threads or go slightly smaller with a tap. Double nut it.

Good call. I will ask the shop to do this when fixing their mistake of not properly torquing the nuts in the first place. This time I will double check their work before taking it off road again!

You should be able to compress it - one hand does seem a bit light, but ive never experienced the OME shocks, so IDK. slow, but steady, return is normal and expected. Damaged threads either mean it wasnt torqued down or it was cross threaded during install. sorry about that.

This is tough because you drove it hard offroad since install. But if they botched the install, i personally would shoot for a new shock. Those threads are sketchy.

Dropping off that big of a ledge at that speed on a slightly upgraded suspension makes me think you're going to be finding a lot of damaged components over the next month.

I certainly hope not, but I do recognize that is a distinct possibility.

Here are pictures of the shock mount and a better picture of the worn down threads. If these threads are good enough to go I need a nut and a washer and what else? I felt the shock some more and agree that I do not think it is actually blown, just unseated.

The mount is totally undamaged so I think it really was just an un-tightened bolt on there.

    wow
    lucky!

    so I believe you need

    1) flip that washer that's on the bottom,
    2) you need anther washer on the top of the rubber
    3) then you need another rubber thingy that goes on top of the mount, once its back in its home,
    4) another washer
    5) nylock nut

I think its supposed to be there,
it has a raised lip that fits perfectly in the bottom of the mount keeping it centered in the hole.

I just installed my 5100's over Christmas, and can say with certainty that factory was setup exactly as shown in the picture.

You may be able to chase those threads but likely you will need to replace that shock.

Thanks guys. I just contacted the shop with my good pictures and information. We will see what they come back and say. Hopefully they just give me a new shock so I don't have to worry about the threads. The shock also poked a hole in my composite bed which I am not happy about... I let them know and we will see what they say.

I appreciate all the help and advice everyone!
