Blistering above the low beam filament is common on the 85/80w hyper bulbs. The original hyper bulbs use glass and not quartz like newer bulbs, including the prototype 2nd generation hyper bulbs. Simultaneous bulb failure is also common in high quality bulbs, as that indicates both bulbs were nearly identical in production and therefore lasted an identical amount of time.

Ok, it’s the second time I’ve had Osrams fail with minutes of each other. I just wanted to make sure with the blistering and failure were not possibly something else going on. I had to drive home 30 miles last night right after sun down and felt like the worlds biggest asshole having to use my highs not something I want to do again if I can help it. The first time I had the double failure I was pretty close to home and it was later at night.

Best practice there is to carry a spare set of bulbs in the glovebox.

Unsure exactly what you are saying, but sounds like you need to check that your bulbs are seated properly and the headlights are properly aimed.

Sorry that’s suppose to say bright. Not night. The bulbs are seated properly. I’ll probably have to adjust

Check out the table here, you should have a 2.1-3" drop at 25'. Best way to do this is find somewhere flat with 25' from a wall, pull the truck right up to the wall, mark the cut off line with tape. Then back up 25' and adjust the headlights to meet the 2.1-3" drop based on your height from the table. Changes to suspension/heavy bumpers can change your aim height, and what might have been mildly annoying with stock bulbs to oncoming drivers could now be excessively glaring with the upgrade.

My harness was also supposed to arrive yesterday but I still don’t have it. It looks like my bulbs made it through customs yesterday but they’re still showing in Queens, NY. What’s the use of tracking numbers if the tracking isn’t updated???

I didn't have any tracking on my first set of bulb orders. But the one I just placed I upgraded to FedEx, so I'll have tracking on those.

As far as the harness, something is up with that Vegas USPS hub. Any package I've had go through there has been late. My harness was late, but it got to me. it was a week+ late but that was the week of Christmas.

I’m sure you can off load that 2nd order to someone here in not too much time. If I didn’t already have my order in I’d jump on the offer.

    About halfway done...
Yup I get the same blister on the bulbs. But for some reason passenger bulb burned out in August. Replaced with stock. Then driver bulb burned out in December while on a trip. Just needed the rain to stop and swapped in another stock bulb that I carry in the glove box.
Now I need to remember to swap both bulbs with a new pair of all seasons. Definitely do more night driving in the winter....

Oh  You’re ready for a ton of night driving then! Haha, I figured the first order of 6 was enough extras, that’s what I did.
