Hard top camper...many more to add+
Have you notice ...Tacoma trucks ..NO hood struts, the hoods are heavy, no driver side grab handles, my 2019 has no storage on the driver side bed ( you can buy this part and cut the bed), the 2020 rear seat (grab handle to lift up ) is no longer supply..it is a strap only material,
Oil filters design is a bad concept..making many people need the dealers to change their oil,
Go-pro holder is no longer supply(2016 had them) ,
Electric seat are now available...but they should have offer this in early years..
I really do not like rear plastic pieces on the ends of my rear bumpers too..save weight..yes ..but really hard to attach ropes /chains..when carrying a platform rack I use heavy chains to anchor this rack from twisting ( on my Ford ranger). Anchor near ends of the rear bumpers..
    ———
Your thoughts ..? What should be kept a must PARTS every Tacoma should have?
    ——-
Why is there so many AFTERMARKETS Companies making these things for Tacoma’s?
    Because Toyota is going cheap...
    Aloha

:notsure: This is Toyota's entry level, cheapest truck priced at about the average cost of a new vehicle. It is what it is.

    I don't understand this:
A cartridge filter in not all that different from a canister. I slightly prefer a cartridge, but in the end, it is just a filter swap.

Just curious, why do you slightly prefer a cartridge? Less waste?

It does take like 5 mins longer to do the cartridge oil filter change, but i dont get why some people make such a big deal out of it. It takes longer for me to remove my skidplate then to actually change the filter.

Just like anything, on the outside it seems one way, but do a little research and it all makes sense

Another day another thread about Toyota not making good quality vehicles when the facts don’t support it :burp:

Yes. Less waste and an easier view of what is being captured. I tore open a canister or two in the past. Not fun.

I had a cartridge filter on a previous car and bike. The nylon cartridge on the car lasted the entire time that we had it with no problems.

Yeah, not a huge fan of plastic bumpers. Miss my stock steel bumpers and stock front tow hooks on my ranger.

Everything else, i really cant complain about. I love my taco. I have the go pro mount and all the bed cubbies. Oil filter change takes like 5 mins longer than canister type, no biggie. Dont care about power seats, i mean how often do you need to adjust the seat?

People wanted fancy apple car play and power seats, now a 2021 taco in my configuration costs 5k more... Cheaper to install those things yourself IMO, if you really wanted to.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
Like all vehicles, standard features get tweaked every model year, however good features that get dropped simply cheapen the truck in the eyes of the consumer.
Toyota pickups never had hood struts. Should they? I think so.
Never used it. Always used the steering wheel.
Never should have been eliminated. That's where I kept my trailer hitch stuff. Where can one buy this?
No issue - never used it cuz every space behind the driver's seat is for storage.
Maybe a good add, BUT now it's not possible to flip the driver's seat forward when loading stuff.
Don't much care as it doesn't affect how I use my Taco.

Mud flaps: Used to be a Tacoma feature - gone.
Front bed rail channel: Very handy on my '06 Taco - gone. Had to buy it elsewhere.
Self-destructing technical features: Bad - I hate paying for subscriptions to this stuff.
    JMHO.

Every car company has a lot of tough choices to make when building out a car or truck. Some of the things you mentioned are valid wish list items, but not dealbreakers. I would rather things be cut than the price climbing quicker.

My last car didn't have a temp gauge (only warning light) and it drove me nuts, and the suspension was designed to eat tires, but it was a fun car (Mazdaspeed 3).

We choose the best option based on the options available, and I think most people on here think even missing those things, the Tacoma is better than the rest.
