Finally an all alluminum radiator for the first gen Tacos

The champion radiator construction is just not a good design.

It will crack sooner or later. The header tank and lower tank and core are not welded together as a solid frame and because of this any flex will create a crack inbetween the core and tanks unlike a solid frame.

It was a custom radiator made with an extruded interior design for max performance.

The aluminum is probably 3 times as thick as the Champion,

If I remember the customer radiator is like 35 pounds and the Champion is maybe 10 or 15 don’t quite remember.

Was 1100.00, expensive but will be the last radiator I will ever buy and keeps my temperatures at 170-180 all the time regardless

Yup, you pay for what you get, you might want to just get the Champion radiator then for 200.00.

Sorry to revive a thread but my 97 reg cab auto 4x4s radiator is leaking from the top where it meets the hinges, I just put it on 30kmiles ago. I see that the champion one isnt good also and I dont wana buy another plastic one only to have it break 30k from now. Which one yall recommend? Thanks.

 

Which one you recommend? I have a 97 auto 4x4 reg cab. Plastic one leaking from the top hinges after 30k miles.

 

I ended up having a custom one made for me because the aluminum one went out a year later and the plastic ones are cheap and don’t cool my engine enough when it’s 100 degrees out side
