That’s awesome. During my research I noticed some with a 3rd brake light and others without. I’m guessing they are included now.

This cap has one and the one I ordered a little over a year ago came with a brake light as well.

This would be fine for the pop up hard shell style, but seems like less of a good idea with a fold out that hangs over the side.

Anyone mounted yakima/thule/etc tracks on the RLD cap and have rack-centric pics?
My cap should be here in ~6 weeks and I'm trying to decide on a rack setup for the RTT (Sparrow).
    Thanks

Yes! I got the idea from someone else earlier in this thread, but Yakima HD bars work well. 55” is the right length..hangs over the top edge just a bit but allows the side doors to open fully. Then just buy 4 T bolts to slide into the bottom track and through the pre drilled holes in the canopy.

Thanks scifidelity - that was my next question. What size bed is the 55” best on? I’ve got a long bed and have been trying to figure out the length of the ribs on the cap before buying the tracks

And scontroneboy that’s a solid looking DIY rack. What product/material did you build it from?

long and short beds are the same width. Also the RLD canopies are same width so still get the 55" bars. These are cross bars. Take a look at Yakima's website.

Ahhh I was confusing length of track needed for the topper and length of crossbars. Thanks for the tip!
Do you know your track length? I’ve been looking at 60” assuming I could always cut down if necessary.

you don't need the tracks. you can bolt the cross bars directly to the cap.

Sharing some pix and ideas. I had my coworker build a shelf to fit our ‘clothes’ bin. It sits behind the iron man 13 gall water (wife’s shower) tank.

Looking at doing your same setup with a tip from @scifidelity.

It looks like the hardware you linked has a 3/4" head and the 55" HD crossbar channel is only 7/16" wide.

Did you guys run into any compatibility problems?

No. Those slide right into the Yakima bars without any issues.

Here are the exact T bolts I got. They work great and are the cheapest grade 8 ones I could find. Free shipping too.
