It’s almost done. I got the support and dual swing outs mounted and painted. It’s still loose where the two meet, I’m using a hitch pin (thinks it’s the same red one as yours lol) but I need to find a more secure method, it moves around when braking or accelerating. I’m kind of stumped as to what to use since it’s tube steel, not sure if I can use a latch. And gotta build the jerry can mount too. I’ll post some pics later

These work well you just have to do some sort of overlap to old one swing out closed by the other or that red latch to hold the 2 swingouts together and then this to hold them to the bumper

So $300 in materials and about 80 hours in labor (literally, I’m very inexperienced) you get a tire carrier! I tried to copy @beertimecontinuum ’s design since we have the same bumpers but I could not notch a tube at an angle to save my life. Spent about 3 hours on one notch and gave up and went for a more square design:rofl: I love how it came out! I still need to build my jerry can mount and I need help with the latch part, it’s loose...

So if you look behind the bottom part of the two vertical tubes, I built a little cage so it doesn’t hit my tailgate. The hitch pin doesn’t do a good job, it’s very wobble when braking and accelerating. I was thinking about drilling into the side of the cage and adding another hitch pin for each swing out. Anybody have any betters ideas?

Get the latch I posted for you and then I'll see if I can't dig up some pics of what I was talking about before. But that latch to the bumper is probably the strongest on the market. @BamaTaco56 used it for his swingout.
