We may have the excavator guy come Saturday and take a look and see what our options would be to have it resloped.

Been doing a good amount of stuff. Installed 8 ceiling fans, cabinet handles, curtain rods. I also had a leak in my new house from the washing machine drain line. Thank god it wasn't worse but they did the plumbing and wall repair in the garage so now i'm waiting on them to finish up.
Trim/ Molding guy is coming today, then they're getting the painter here hopefully this week so i can finish up organizing my garage.

Had the garage door opener installed
    IMG_5783.jpg

and installed a better security plate for the front door. Used my new Dremel and chisels. came out pretty good and the door seals nice and tight.

    .
....^^^.. That's about 25 Tandem loads at $4,000 per load for their gravel and delivery.

FWIW .... I was paying about $1,200 a 22-25 ton Tandem load on granite gravel in about 1999 0r early 2000.

Included the cost of gravel and delivery from a granite quarry about 10 miles away.

Local place has 1” crusher run for $20/ton, that’s $11,400 for 570 ton.
I have no clue how they came up with $100,000, unless that included hauling it from 100 miles away :notsure:

so 570 tonnes of gravel works out to approx 380 cubic yards which kinda checks out with size of wall you are backfilling , but cost per yard to get to $100K for material is about 6 times what we pay here and we have expensive gravel in my area . I assume that figure includes trucking too , but are they trucking it from another country ?

Just found out they were talking about a 6’ wall, not 10’ like I was told. I’m calling him back after lunch.

I just ran the numbers, and I'd be paying somewhere around $13,500; how in the F*** can it cost you $100K???????

I think they were planning on trucking them in from 100+ miles away, instead of using the quarry here in town.

Glad to see that "remodeled" doesn't mean changed to white. I love color and texture in cabinets even if it's not in vogue this year. Looks great!
