Was gifted one of those nice Stonfo razor holders and a few different books for Christmas. Whipped out a Kelly Galloup pattern to break-in the holder. My goal is to fill a new streamer box by the end of the month.

Some stuff. Not a lot, just some.
I have a Stonfo holder too. Maybe one of these days I'll get to use it.

Just getting caught up on the thread. What a gorgeous trip. I have done Baxter once and it was a short one; need to get back there ASAP. I had no idea the fishing up there could get so good. I was looking at the hiking options when we traveled. We do a trip to Rangeley twice a year to fish the rivers. Absolutely beautiful state!

I rarely see other people fishing in the park. It's one of the reasons I avoid the "Shit Show" that has become of the Rangeley area.

Bringing this old girl back to life.

The trailer says Clack a Craft, but I did not know they ever built aluminium boats.

I've been doing a little research and can find little info on the boat. The damn serial number tag is abraded beyond recognizable.

If any one has info, please pass it on.PXL_20210112_221558984.jpg PXL_20210114_010310328.jpg PXL_20210114_010326603.jpg

The last time it was registered was 2006. What a shame to let such a nice rig do nothing but collect pine needles.

I do plan on putting it on the water very soon. Just need to source some 9 or 10 foot oars.

Got pretty homesick this week. I lived on the Mckenzie River in Oregon for about 10 years and moved to Utah mid last year for a 1 year research assignment. Itching to get home permanently.

Picked-up a nice box and “angry-tied” all my favorite patterns for the Mckenzie Caddis hatch. They’re giant green bugs and the Redsides demolish them. Can you smell the burnt deer hair through the screen?

Fine looking box there. You should have lots of good trout fishing available there in Utah, too.

Have you been up the river since last summer’s fire? I’m curious how bad it was burnt. And as far as Utah, my best friend has been guiding on the Green for about 12 years. It’s amazing up in that Ashley National Forest area if you want to poke around.

Yeah I got on some steelhead around late October and it was upsetting to see the landscape but luckily not terrible until you reach near Blue River. We took out and I purposely drove East afterward just to check the extent of the damage. Christmas Treasures is toast, dude! We would go there every year to get an ornament. We’re looking at properties just outside of the burn line for our return and it’s humbling to see how many properties have went up for sale because of the fires and COVID. Foreclosures due to unemployment and people selling-off real estate because they’re scared shitless of burning.

I’ve got a trip planned for the Green but was just going to rent a drift boat. If you PM me his info I’ll see about hiring him for the BWO hatch!
