One could learn a lot about the vibration, if it is resultant from the driveline, by placing an active GoPro underneath aimed at the driveshaft / rear axle. Record under vibration scenarios and review after.

When over 50MPH, does the shaking change with RPM change? Does it go away at say 65MPH+?

you could try rotating front to back, one side at a time and see if the vibration changes.. where you feel the vibration in the truck and if it changes.. steering wheel or floor/seat. this might help you identify which wheel/tire combo is out of balance or has a bad tire.

Put the factory wheels back on very little vibration.
My snows general grabber arctic are mounted on rims from a 2009 taco.
I am going to have a road force balance done next.

An important part of the TSB provided is to ensure your Tacoma fits into the range of vehicles covered.

Essentially, the TSB requires measurement of the driveline angles and if not in specified parameters, new leaf (revised) springs are fitted. There is also a change in the steering wheel dampeners.

Thanks for this. I thought it was something funky with these transmissions causing it (mine is minor but noticeable) but its a driveline issue.

Yeah, I am looking to have this TSB and the one for updating the ECU done(92-20 IIRC). Hopefully my dealership doesn’t give me shit about doing it, really don’t want to have to file a Corp ticket...

Wait, so if my VIN is 5TFCZ5AN#LX23#### does that mean mine “should” have the updated parts?

Anyone get aftermarket leaf pack, ubolt flip kit and still have the issue?
I’ve got Ironman leaf packs and while it reduced the vibrations I’m wondering if a ubolt flip kit would help. In case I didn’t quite get the leaf/ubolts squared when tightening them.
Had/have vibrations during decel at lower speeds before and after lift. After they’ve gone down but still noticeable. Felt in petal and wheel.

    Sorry for the delay.
My snows balance was off, roadforce balance fixed truck still shaked under braking when brakes were warm.
Left stealership horrible review and they finally paid attention. Mechanic foreman and service manager came for a drive. Found the rear drums were warped again.
replaced and tested with driveshaft in and out no vibration for now
I still can't believe that after 6000 miles my truck has its third set of drums.

Next time you drive you truck and park it., get out and feel each drum to determine if they are excessively hot. You could have the pads dragging in the drum causing overheating and warping.

Since I had a 2nd gen with vibes, I follow these threads. This was done on the 2nd gen forums, its pretty unbelievable how much movement there is in that center support / carrier bearing assembly. The driveline is all over the place. Seems like that center support may be too flexible? Thats why a lot of second gen owners have replaced their drivelines to a one piece style, and its fixed it for some or most.

After the first set of drums I do regularly feel for heat and nothing abnormal, the drive shaft was out and i did check for play on the bearing and nothing.
Must be a bad batch of drums.
