I appreciate it @2016Taco4Me, I’m gonna order the wrench (and metal housing) then do another oil change when I get it in. I’ll call it a 45$ learning experience. @ilubtimmyhos a huge socket might work but I don’t have one big enough for it. This one is almost identical, but ours have more fins and are plastic. I tried using a hammer/extension to knock it loose and broke one fin so decided to stop before I cracked the housing and was out a truck waiting for the part. The drain plug was almost hand loose but it seems like super glue was used on the housing haha. 0A3C3CF0-B6DE-421A-8844-CFAAD9AB6E49.jpg

This is certainly not a cheap option, but I just ordered one of these for each of my Toyotas. One more overtight drain plug in the filter housing and I think I'd loose it

There are torque specs for both the oil filter drain plug and oil filter housing. The torque spec is also stamped on the bottom of the filter housing.

    Oil filter cap torque:
    25 Nm / 18 ft lbs
Oil filter drain plug torque: 13 Nm / 10 ft lbs

Didn't help last time on the Wife's Truck. Torqued to spec and after a few months, I couldn't get the drain plug out even once I removed the Filter Cover. Didn't want to crack the plastic filter cover in the vice, so just left it alone and ordered up the replacement. Should be here in a few more days, so I'll only have one more really sloppy change.

That's a horrible idea. What time?
This looks like it was a pretty clean truck for a 2008. Being parted out.

I don’t know about that little thing.... maybe built, might be a different story for looks. but as it sets on the floor. A hard pass.

    that is all.

Sport with some trail package of some sort. I didn’t see anything special on it though.

Oh yeah. That one is for intrepid soccer moms. That thing is built on the Ford Escape platform. It's the big 'un everyone is waiting for.

Tbh I’d probably drive one haha. It wouldn’t replace a truck but maybe a daily driver.

    Rite rite.

Based on looking in the passenger window, damn thing looks like it would be a tight fit for , four grown adults.

From some of the testing I've seen, the thing is pretty capable. Surprisingly capable for something like that.

Bill, the back seat is meant for baby seats! ;)

Haha. No more babies here. Maybe a new pup or something.

I haven’t been following it at all, so pretty clueless about it.

That said, I did see a commercial about it last night. A goat that grew up in to a pony, went into a cave and came out as a bronco. Didn’t make any sense to me, but oh well.

I want to say I read that it has front and rear lockers and the same goat mode as the big bronco. Obviously other limiting factors but I think it will be a solid vehicle

Do your self right and get the aluminum housing and the wrench. Even with the tool I ended up breaking a tab and had to learn the hard way through a second oil and filter change once the housing arrived. Folks in the dealership shop either used an impact or just uggadugga'd way hard. Here's the one I got.[IMG]
