285/75R16 tires without rubbing?

    I am purchasing a set of FJ wheels, which I believe have a 4.5" backspace, and was wondering if a 285/75R16 tire will fit without any rubbing issues. I do not have a lift installed, the only thing I have done is the rear leaf TSB. The rest is all stock. My truck is only two months old, so I am still saving up for a lift. I have the TRD Off-Road Package, which has alloy wheels and 265/70R16 tires. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    285s won't fit without a lift. You might be able to do some MAJOR trimming (maybe even the cab mount), but I think you'll need a lift to fit 285s.

    yep, need 3" lift or maybe the mudflaps removed and some major trimming like the other guys have said. a 265 would probably fit though.

    Thank you to everyone for your advice, I really appreciate it. I will stick with the 265 tires until I get a lift.

    Really don't think so. I think you're in the same boat with no lift and 285s regardless of backspacing...

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    Even if lifted, 285's on the stock wheels are gonna rub the Upper Control Arms when turning.

    If you put a leveling kit on it and 1/8 in spacers it will allow you to run the 285s... but the mud flaps on the front will have to be removed
