***UPDATED*** 3rd Gen Multimedia Updates

I have a 2016 T4R. Anyone know if this updates removes the 9999 file limit for USB drives with MP3s? I have no issues with my Entune system as it is now, but if this update gets rid of the 9999 file limit that would be awesome.

 

I found a dealer Tech Tip regarding BT connectivity issues and diagnosis. I'm not sure that it will help people, but it if is really bad, the end of the line is a H/U replacement. Note the steps though.

 

I just did the update, but I have a question.

Before and after the update. I'm not getting a drop down menu notification from text messages, but I still do receive audio cues. I'm thinking its from my previous phone, Samsung S8+ that was doing drop-screen notification, which is now Samsung Note 20 Ultra that is not since its has newer software version than S8+.

I have tried disconnecting phone from Bluetooth and reconnecting. No help.

I played with the trucks menu setting and its set exactly the same way its always been with drop menu notification. No help.

Nothing in the phone setting, that I know of, changes the notification.

Its not a "OMG! I NEED THIS!", but its a nice convenience I'm used to since buying the truck.

Any help is appreciated.

 

Actually, do check your phone settings. There should be a connection setting or permission for text messages.

I had it on for a while, but honestly, I found the texts on the HU were forced up and stupidly distracting. On the phone, they easy to ignore.

 

Is this menu you are showing within Bluetooth > "Trucks Name" > setting?

If so, I do have tab selected On/enabled. But maybe I need to check it while bluetooth connected to the truck. I'll report back later after the beers have run its course.

Nice info, and thanks for all the work. I have a USB rwady with the KWI files loaded. Just wondering if this could affect my front camera mod. I know the camera is hardwired goes through a relay but I really like my front facing camera.

 

I have a front camera that is connected through a harness and uses the A/V input in override mode only. H/U updates have never messed with it.

 

I have front camera and have done this mod... No problems.

I doubled check the settings with Bluetooth connected to the truck. All settings are enabled.

Turned it off and back on. No help.

There are other things to try, like a full H/U reset. Although, no guarantees that it would help.

 

Has your iPhone had any recent updates? Seems to be a common issue with apple products.

 

I do not have an iPhone. I have Samsung Note 20 Ultra.

Just one more question. Will this software update, delete my saved radio stations, Navigation routes, preferences, contacts. Does this take the radio back to a factory default status? Radio just locked up for the first time in weeks plus its just doing some weird things occasionally. Bluetooth is fine right now using a Old Samsung Note 8. Software history shows its never been updated since it left San Antonio in 2018. Thanks

 

I don't have any saved station or routes, but my preferences, contacts, and history were never affected. I've updated three times now.

It won't delete radio stations, I'm not sure on routes either though.
