Roof basket on directly Canopy

    Hi all... New owner of an old taco...

    Would like to mount a basket directly on top of the canopy (with rubber stops) rather than to a roof rack system... as shown in pics[​IMG] [​IMG] . Anyone done this? Any problems?

    I don't like the extra height when it's mounted to racks.

    There’s probably no reason you couldn’t do it if you properly sealed it. If it were me I would mount a track system and get T slot mounts inside the tracks to mount the basket to. That way if you ever decide to run a roof rack you have options

    Thanks TwinTaco!.... Never thought about that. Makes more sense. Although.... Adds to price too. Ahhhhh ... it begins :eek:

    Would work if sealed and use a large fender type washer inside.
    Most ACE Hardwares have plastic/nylon type spacers that would be a more stable base- find them in their parts drawers.

    For sure about money.. rhino rack sells tracks for 110 specific to toppers.
    One thing about TW.. if you want to save money you might want to delete your account while your ahead :rofl:
