I just installed the sport/haul falcon lift on my Tacoma. The front was raised 2.25" and the rear was raised 1.25" using a block. Because the rear shock is longer than the shocks from the factory, falcon said I could run a 1.5" AAL. I don't really want the ride to be stiffer, and I like the rear leaf pack as it is. However, I do off road often. Many people hate blocks here and I get it, but does this actually effect the truck. Would it cause any damage?20A8F2DB-5787-4E60-882D-B771D16DB16B.jpg

Only really harsh offroading, but the problem is the bump stops in the front don't contact and the bottom of the shock will act as the bump stop.

You're fine for trails and logging roads, but for banging off rocks and more frequent offroading consider a full upgrade and selling the spacers.

The rear 1" block isn't a big deal and only causes minor axle wrap.

Run the same setup but opted for AAL instead of blocks, rides like a dream.

As others have stated you are increasing risks to potential shock damage. The shock is typically the limiting factor in which case your shock could overextend. Additionally, stock shocks and 1.5" emulsion shocks will often overheat causing shockfade reducing ride quality and performance and eventually failure.

Not saying you can't offroad but be prepared to experience degraded performance and/or shock failure.

Which AAL did you go with?

The shocks have a piggyback reservoir and I doubt would overheat. Like I said these shocks are designed to run 1.25" blocks under them so a 1.5" AAL only adds a .25" increase over what its designed for.

If you are strictly asking about the rear, you will be fine.

So? All shocks are prone to shockfade and your shocks weren't designed for anything other than factory geometry. Notice how they mention nothing about shock stroke...I'd be surprised if it got much more than 9."

Sounds like you already have the answers, best of luck.

A 1.25" rear block is nothing that will cause axle wrap & hop. Blocks are trouble when you put a 6" lift block on a full-size truck with big power... that is when you will break stuff form axle wrap & wheel hop.

I run Bilstein 5100/ OME 885 up front and 5100 in the rear with a 1.5" tapered steel block. I needed the taper block due to driveshaft vibration on braking. So far no problem after 40K miles.

Quick question. Did the falcon bump stop fit after you installed the all? I saw that with some dal's people had to cut that middle bolt down but I got the all dogs today and the threads only go a little bit down.

I experience more (what I thinks is) axle wrap / wheel hop than I like and I don't even have a block. I experience it the most often in deep snow in cases where it's impossible to avoid wheel spin. The whole truck shudders violently at times. Though I have yet to break anything, I would be hesitant to add a block.

    Like, so many.
I've got the Icon 3 leaf progressive. I took out the overload spring, but I did have to add a 1 inch block to get the rake back. I'm 2.5 inches up front. Never had any issues off road or on. I don't go THAT hard though.

I ended up getting the All Dogs.
Max I’ve ran is a 250lb dirt bike in the hitch with 150lb of gear in the bed and it sits level with that weight.

You need to do some serious research.
If you really wheel your truck, expect the spindles, and rear spring hangers to bend. Ditch the spacers/blocks and invest in a real suspension kit. Good luck with your truck.
