I’m definitely hitting the surrounding trails next time I go to Crested Butte. I just went on a whim one day. I wasn’t disappointed but I would have been if that was not my first experience at DH.

I’ve ridden my fair share... Most parks are quite different from each other, each have their own flavor. In CO, Trestle has a ton of variety, a great jump trail for progressing, and a great little village. That makes it a fun place to ride and have a fun day on mostly manicured trails.
I personally love Steamboat. Can’t beat downtown, camping, amazing fly fishing, food, beer galore. Their jump trail is awesome fun (but on the larger side), and most of their trails have good flow. Very limited selection, but they are a ton of fun and you can lap them all day and not get bored. Bonus for all the great trail riding outside the park.
CB park was meh, trails are fun though. Granby is worth a visit if you like rough/raw, and it’s super cheap. Keystone has some really fun features, but their jumps are built weird. All the others are alright, nothing great though.
Outside of CO, Angel Fire is incredible. I’ve had great experiences every time I went. Not much to do there other than ride though, and it’s far. Deer Valley is a good time, but limited. Good thing there’s so much good stuff to ride in the area.
Haven’t been to Whistler yet (I know...), but that’s the quintessential bike park.

It was hard to justify Granby when trestles was on the way. Maybe during a competition it would be worth the extra drive or if I don't get a pass this year.

Steamboat is now probably the top of my list thanks to your description. I would love to spend the weekend riding and fishing.

Maybe I'll get that variety bike park pass thing

Depending on what day I leave being Wednesday after work or Thursday after work will dictate that weekend.
I would like to ride 2 park days being either, Kanuga, Bailey, or Windrock. Because the nearest park to Birmingham is 5 or so hours away.
Then if I have two other days or just 1 probably most recommended trail in Knoxville or Pisgah.
I'm thinking Pisgah just because it is a little farther than Knoxville.

I bought like 5 different pairs of Mechanix gloves during their sale, 5 gloves for around $70-80 dollars I'm loving most of them.

Angel Fire has been on my list for a few years now, but the 10 hour drive is a deterring factor, plus like you said, everyone claims it's basically on the moon for anything else.

Deer Valley is a great "scratch the itch" park, made just well enough to give you the bike park feel, for those days you don't want to pedal all the amazing stuff around it.

I'm afraid to go to Whistler. Mainly because if I go, I know I'll fall in love and have to keep coming back.

Got the cranks installed on the new bike last night, just need to add bash guard, chain + shift cable, and trim/bleed a front brake.

Got the measurements for which size dropper, and I can run a 180 OneUp. Based on a mockup, with the post retracted, it will look like a DJ bike with 2.6 tires. Saddle's like an inch from the back tire, and I can stand over the seat on flat ground. Gonna be silly

I had MTB Parks pass a couple of years, great to get a feel for what the parks are like. Granby is a ghost town man, zero crowds, and it's like $25. Worth going if Trestle is the zoo it always is on the weekend.
Steamboat is just such a cool place to ride. The camping by Rabbit Ears is crazy beautiful, the fishing on the Yampa is amazing. HUGE hungry trout, right in town. Plus the trail system starts from in town, so you can tide super fun trails all day. Last time I was there I camped in Rabbit Ears, drove down for the day and rode the park, then grabbed a beer and some food on the river, went fishing in before sunset. Next day, camping, trails in the morning, fishing and food/beer at noon, trails again, fishing, back to camp. Perfect weekend.

I was planning a Whistler/Vancouver/Squampton road trip for last summer. Then 'Rona. Hoping to try again this summer. Start in CO, go through UT, ID, OR, WA... Lots of crazy good stuff on the way. Need like 2-3 weeks!

I stopped and camped in Angel Fire last September with hopes of riding their park. Sadly, a freak snow storm came through the Rockies, so I had to quickly head to the East the next day instead of riding. #buzzkill

If you ever make it down there, I highly recommend the Enchanted Circle Campground. It was absolutely beautiful and less than ten minutes from the bike park. You'll pay a small premium to camp there, but it's worth it IMO.

    not enough.
I agree. DV a "Scratch the itch". Also easy enough to semi-shuttle it. Done more shuttle laps at DV than actual bike park laps. lol.

dudes, we should go to whistler this year...pending how rona comes through. Was gonna go last year as well.

Steamboat sucks don't come here. :anonymous: :p

Actually the bike park being closed last year was pretty nice, but it's a grunt up the road to ride it.

i thought angel fire was one of the few parks you could just setup in their parking lot and camp?

Didn't know about that. I personally prefer to camp in isolated sites among the aspens, so I probably wouldn't have done it anyway. But sill a very cool option, though.

Made my fiancé aware that she will not be getting anymore gifts for 2 years lol. I bought a her a bike expected to be at my work next week.
I got tired of messaging people and well everyone asking more than I'm willing to pay used, unless I'm the one selling of course. :anonymous:

If you wanna guess the bike is a 2021, blue, 27.5, FS trail bike and covered by best warranty in business.
She rode the cheap ass borrowed girls bike long enough and I hate front derailleurs so wanted a 1x drivetrain.

She was cool with the gift idea and excited so I'm happy. Pics will come when delivered.

Haha, I would love that too in medium. She better just hold on since she's only 5'1~2"

Not that much money, but same frame with 1C lol

It's a small size frame, website said it suits 5'0"-5'5"

I look at it as a great way for me to go riding instead of hiking. She's been saying lets go hiking more than lets go riding lately and I think it's bike related.
