    I got my 2021 sr5 DCLB 4x4.

my friend wants to buy the same truck. $34,228.

however he has a dealer offering him sport cement DCLB 4x4 for $36,300

He wants to know if the sport is 2k more worth than a sr5.

aside from 17s and hood scoop I am not familiar with sport differences

What say you on the price difference ? Is sport worth for him?

this is his first truck. Thanks for help taco family

Friend should look at the difference and make the choice, not TacomaWorld.
    It's his 30 something K, presumably.

The base Sport has 17 inch wheels, scoop, color matched rear bumper, turn signals in the side mirrors, led daytime running lights, and push button start. The suspension is tuned a little different as well. It’s a little stiffer than the SR5, in my experience.

Just depends on whether they like any of those features. If they don’t care about those, go SR5. I went Sport because I wanted premium options that you couldn’t get on the SR5.

    Thanks!
He doesn’t need anything more than my sr5

but asked me for such a little price difference sport probably is better

I was at my max budget so for me it wasn’t an option

I agree, he should weigh out the differences and make that decision!

But if you're looking for outside opinions, I agree... HARD NO!

I'd pay to NOT have push to start. ;)

But he needs to decide for himself.

If he doesn't like the scoop he can trade for a regular hood + $500 so the sport would only cost $1500 more.

Doesn't the base Sport and OR packages come with the premium (non JBL) radio as well?

the sport allows you to get a 6 speed MT, that is the only reason I would consider it over an SR5. I think the seat fabric might be nicer

I went with the SR5 vice TRD Sport. I didn't need all they fancy bells and whistles but if you can afford it, why not!

    Check build thread!
For me the things that would push me to the sport in this situation is the premium infotainment (non jbl), resale value is better on the sport, and the nicer overall look. To me, it's worth the extra grand.

Whether he gets the SR5 or Sport I suggest he works on getting the price down.

Jan 30, 2020 I bought a 2020 TRD Off-Road for $36,100 ($38,000 out the door). Predator steps, mud flaps, blackout package, tinted windows.
