No, it's driven by the ABS Sensors on the wheels from what I understand.

with a 31" OD tire and assuming there is 1/2" of wear available. There is 2 M/H difference in your speedo just from new tires to old tires at 60 M/H. Someone can check the numbers because I did it fast.....

OK, so as your tires wear, your MPH changes? BTW these are new stock tires. Does this mean the analog is more accurate? Which one is right? My last vehicle used GPS, so I knew it was spot on.

Digital will always be more accurate that analog, but probably not enough you can see the difference. People complain about 2-3 miles/hr that their speedo is off, so I was just showing that in tire wear alone you can be that far off. Down load an app on your phone to check your trucks speedo against to see what your correct speed really is, but depending on how many satellites it can find at one time or which ones that too can effect the app's accuracy. You can play the accuracy game for ever on each option.

What vehicle used GPS, almost every vehicle uses a tone ring from the ABS sensor, others use the trans or tcase

Edit to note this was a rhetorical question.

OP's last vehicle speedometer must have been incredibly unreliable in tunnels.

It uses the ABS sensor for wheel speed and uses a VSS that measures crankshaft speed in the engine.

If you had a head unit that displayed the vehicle speed then that is something else.
