Yeah no matter how many times I washed the plasti dipped fenders it always looked like shit. It wasn't even black anymore, more like a faded dirty black

Meso gas cap holder. I have a lot of stuff from Meso and honestly it's a waste of money and IMO is more difficult to use than just hanging it off the latch.

Raptor lights. Invariably, the same truck is also sporting a Pro-style grill.

Both mods are unoriginal and overplayed, which makes them that much dumber.

To an extent yes. They are over played on the web/ social sites. However, here in my neck of the woods I see maybe 1 lifted tacoma every 2 weeks. And even less with raptor lights/grill.

I had a friend that would stop liking certain bands or music because they got too well known. I always thought it was crazy. Like what you like regardless of how many like it or hate it. It's still the best looking grill.

Amen. And, after 9 pages we still have people interjecting their personal opinions of what others have done, instead of answering the OP's original question: What mods did YOU do that you didn't think were worthwhile and that you would change back?

The TRD Off-road Pro style emblems. I've gotten two sets in 2 years already, iso alcoholed behind them, used extra 3M plastic emblem adhesive, and they still come off. Plus water gets behind them when washing and runs down your freshly dried truck. Short of putting epoxy on the damned things, I don't think they'll stay on long term.

Also, I got cheap universal seat covers that use elastic and tabs to stay on the seats. I should've saved the money and gotten a proper set of clazzios or katskinz. I was fooled by the pictures on Amazon and thought they'd look way less crappy than they did.

My TRD oil cap for sure lol...

    Probably some others I'm forgetting.

Goo Gone will not hurt the paint... I used it to remove the vinyl 'dealer' sticker off my tailgate about 30 seconds after I got home with my new truck...

100% the Caliraised LED "fog light" pods... not remotely a fog pattern and basically useless.

When I found this site one of the first mods I got was the little TRD grille badge that I thought was so cool. Then the bolts got rusty and I realized the thing was kind of cheap looking.

Any interior lights while driving seem like a terrible idea. I think I’m going to mod my light on my shifter with a piece of tape so it doesn’t reflect on my window.

I feel the same way, I have a blue light on my subwoofer control and it drove me nuts at night, so I took took a black touchup pen I had and painted it.

Too much to name for this little space
Honestly, I would say ditch lights. Having extra lighting around is a good idea for when shtf but who the hell is rock crawling in pitch darkness on the side of a cliff? When it's getting dark, should be setting up camp and getting dinner started!

I feel like the key word is SHOULD be setting up camp before dark. Doesn’t always work out that way though. I’ve wished I had ditch lights many times driving around looking for a campsite after dark.

Mine are just personal pet peeves. My opinion only and it may not be a popular one. Also, maybe not so much “mods” as they are fads.

Raptor lights. I think they are hideous and in kinda silly. Like do you really like those God awful things or are you just trying to pretend like you have a $70k truck?

The blacked out/murked out craze. Now I understand the folks that use their rigs. You get some rock rash on the wheels and you can hit it with some Krylon and be back killin it in da streets. I also understand chrome is not the answer and I fully believe that. But seeing 1 in every 3 trucks having matte black plasti dip on everything that not actual body panels of the vehicle drives me nuts.

Aftermarket wheels on stock-ish trucks. I’ve gotten to the point where aftermarket wheels on a stock or 2-3” leveled truck, dumb the truck down and make it look cheap IMO. Now if you’re running 35s or bigger for some reason it kinda cancels out in my mind and starts looking more fitting and normal.

Before the Calvary comes, this is just my opinion and personal preference.
