What Have You Done To Your 2nd Gen Tacoma Today?

I got the same reaction from my neighbors when I was trying to replace the water pump in my '98 Audi A4.. have to take the grill, bumper, AC condenser, radiator, all accessory belts, fan/fan clutch, etc. off. People walking by thought I was doing a rebuild or something hah. So I definitely know that pain!

Had new strut/coil assemblies installed at a shop today. I tried to do it myself last weekend, but hit too many roadblocks, stopped before completing the job, and opted for the shop route. Removed the original strut and coil on a 3inch rough country spacer and replaced with 5100/887s.

New hub to fender measurements:
Lf 22 3/8
Rf 22 5/8
Lr 24 3/8
Rr 24 5/8

The old alignment was terrible, so that’s a great improvement. Ride quality from the 5100/887s feels much better.

 

Man that’s a clean build. Are those 295’s? Look a little bigger than my 285’s

 

What wheel and tire sizes are you running? Great looking truck.

Wheels are the 16” scs f5. Not sure on the offset because they were on the truck when I bought it. Tires are ko2 265/75/16

 

Just did 5100/887 to my truck about 2 weeks ago and I agree with you, the ride is soooo much better than stock. Feels like this is how the truck should have felt from factory.
Also bronze F5's make me jelly! Lookin good!

Finally got around to getting my old sliders removed and new brute force fab weld on/bolt on sliders fab up after my car accident. Cement truck side swiped me and fucked my last sliders up. Gotta love when insurance pays for a new bad ass version of your old shit.

 

Took her through the wash today.

 

You have your 5100's on the highest setting here? Front looks to have a little rake, which I suppose is what you want with the shell and a potential load.

 

Yeah, that looks to be the same one I found on Amazon. I had it saved for a while to buy later, then it went out of stock, and came back for $100 more. Not sure if I should just pull the trigger now or look into something else. I just really like the look of the raptor style grill.

 

I have the 5100s on the zero setting combined with ome 887 springs. Which lifts about 2.5” according to a chart from headstrong and what I’m seeing after installation.
There’s definitely a noticeable rake. I’m working on undoing the spacer lift that was on the truck when I got it. So it still has 2” blocks in the rear. My next upgrade will be a leaf pack. I think I’d like a little less rake. But it’s tolerable as it sits.

 

I just bought one, if you’re still indecisive come January 27th, I’ll let you know how she fits.

Where did you get your headlights?

 

I ordered this shift knob before Christmas from a guy on Etsy, and USPS finally found it In their heart to deliver it. I’m pretty sure it’s guaranteed to add 5+ hp. The fit is perfect!

 

Last spring I ordered an ARB awning from 4Wheel parts and it said it came with a guy rope kit. The awning came with 2 so didn't think twice. Last night I ran out to my garage and saw a package on the steps being soaked from water running off the roof and when I opened it it was the guy rope kit I didn't know I had coming 9 months later! Not sure if this was shipping or 4wheel parts deal but come on

A pain to install and still figuring out but what a fun mod for a Friday.
