I debadge all my trucks as much as possible. I’m glad the SR only had one 4x4 and one V6 emblem. Quickest debadge ever. :D
Makes washing and polishing so much easier and looks so much cleaner in my opinion. I even debadged my old TRD. I couldn’t care less what anyone thinks it is or isn’t.

As far as Upbadging goes, I see it all the time, its kinda weird but whatever makes them feel better.

The TRDs are really nice but it just wasn't in my budget. I purchased a pre-owned SR-5 (even came pre-dented) and I make it a point not to put TRD stuff on it. I wouldn't judge anyone that did, but it's just not my thing. End of the day, I say it's your ride/toy so do what you want and have fun.

This argument is recurring on this forum. It would be nice to see fellow Tacoma enthusiasts have a higher level respect for each other’s styling and modifications, despite differences.

TRD is a factory line of accessories offered for any Tacoma model and regional distributors/dealers even equip non-TRD models with TRD accessories at the port/showroom. The TRD Pro grille is the only recent TRD accessory I can think of that was narrowed down to be VIN specific for the TRD Pro model only.

I would rather buy some mods to do myself and keep my hands busy. Why buy such a pretty piece of equipment and not have fun tinkering with it? Whatever the outcome is or whatever aesthetic you're going for, at least its YOUR own hands designing and "uniquifying" YOUR vehicle. Plus, the more you work with your truck the more you learn it. I rarely see overland guys shitting on baja style guys or vice versa so why should a TRD Pro be better than a TRD Sport or even a SR5 perhaps? I don't have to believe in this "Tacoma Hierarchy," keep trying to push it on me but I'm not gonna budge. A Taco is a Taco is a Taco. (also for being #1 selling truck for 2 straight years, Ive gotta diversify myself from the oversaturated crowd.)

Kinda weird to even have this thread. Not sure why people even care what others think unless:

    1) Paying the bills.
    2) Sleep next to them.

Other than that opinions are like assholes... and they all stink.

I would not up badge if it was me. I dont find many decals/badges attractive enough to purchase and apply on my truck. Granted if a part was better that came on another truck trim i would be inclined to install it. SR's are a clean slate to work with.

I blacked out all the emblems-- aesthetically on the metallic grey they jumped out too much for me--it's that sexy profile that looks so good

blacked out emblems on MGM is super sexy. I’m currently doing that to mine. I have the tacoma side emblems coming in the mail and overlays as well.

I blacked out all of the emblems on my SR5 because I think it looks better.

I added an aftermarket Pro grille, because I think it looks better.

    There's a pattern here.

I removed every TRD decal and emblem, I just like the cleaner uncluttered appearance. As a side note, I absolutely hated the weird ass "splash graphics" era where many motorcycles (and a few cars) had big graphics across the fairings and tank that looked like someone threw different colors of paint at the machine.

I do have the Pro grill, I like the throwback look of it and the stock OR grill sucked, I think the aftermarket ones look cheesy or pretentious depending on the style. The Pro looks like it belongs there. For everyone that thinks that's copying a Pro, remember the Pro is copying the look from cheapest, least equipped Toyota trucks ever made. No one ever says Pro owners are trying to trick people into thinking they have an 80's Hilux. Which is kind of what the Toyota design team was doing by triggering the nostalgia gene in us.

I Also bought the black plastic raised insert letters for the tailgate. I would have preferred the tailgate was smooth, but the inserts look better than the monochrome debossed standard version that looks like they forgot to finish the job. So I'm labeled up on front and back because I like that look, but don't like the bed decals, V6 badges or door emblems. That probably seems odd to others.

I don't pay a whole lot of attention to other vehicles, unless its something that really stands out, like a showroom condition 1957 El Dorado convertible or some exotic supercar (if I lived in LA or Miami those would be common enough I probably would stop noticing them too)

Seeing another Tacoma...yawn. It's like saying Wow!!! Look! a McDonalds! what are the chances?!?!

Complete LOL, I haven't heard it explained that way, but totally hilarious

The 90's "dixie cup" truck aesthetic always had an odd but soft place in my heart

How did you attach the Yakima rack to the OEM roof bars? Does Yakima have an oval / aerobar mount or did you mock something up?

Nice and shiny  MY PRECIOUS

In my opinion, Tacos look better de-badged. Just my 13 cents though...

I bought my truck as a 2019 TRD OR DCSB, but she no longer identifies as an OR. She's custom built for my needs.

I did put a "URD SUPERCHARGED" badge on my drivers side door though... Yes, I'm supercharged :dancingbacon:

    Great truck!

Interesting example of someone who prefers the look of no badges that actually added a badge too here, very nice neutralizing stance!!
