I was briefly feeling superior for never having suffered the indignation of engaging 4WD while attempting to adjuster the heater fan speed. Until I realized I never (or hard ever) touch the fan speed knob. Climate control equipped. But I have pushed it a few times trying to start the truck.

The spikey 3D printed band looks like the clear winner. Or making some trick flip up switch cover like fighter jets have for weapons control on the stick

If you can’t get access to a printer or find one on Etsy, I’m pretty sure you can find something comparable on adameve.com

I just assumed this is what everybody does on every vehicle before using any control knob or switch or dial or button.

Maybe Toyota designed this way so you periodically engage 4wd so everything stays lubed. But seriously, I don't understand how this is a thing.

    Mind blown

also , even if you shift in 4H who gives a sh*t. If the truck is that fragile then it’s good to know on the road, while AAA can still pick you up lol.

Talked to a friend with a 3d printer.
Ended up with this. Which fit perfect.
    o) won't allow the knob to turn...accidently..by yaks such as myself.........
    o) won't fall off easily
    o) forced to remove it to turn the knob for its intended use.

I think you should try the look down method. Once you have gotten that down, try a couple times without looking. Crawl, walk, run! Remember, slow is smooth and smooth is fast...don't rush these things.
