Bilstein 6112

Try 4Wheel parts. I ordered a set of 6112's last week and picked it up the next day...

 

I ordered 5160's on Monday and got the pack, plus a 10% off code from Wheelers Offroad. Shipped in 3 days. Give them a call.

 

I ordered before Christmas and still nothing.

Actually i think they had the 5160 but no 6112. I ordered the combo.

 

I got lucky finding two places that had each. Now just needing to decide what setting will be best with a RXT option two leaf pack and running 265-70-70's... Thinking 4/5 but torn and need to decide between that and 5/6

 

Finally get my truck worked on next week. Thinking about doing 6/5 with Deaver AALs. Will there still be a slight rake? Or will it be leveled? So much options it’s been driving me cray cray.

 

in the same boat... it's so hard! Just the stupid final decision to pick the height haha.

 

Right? I follow a dude on IG. He has both sides set at 5. He says he has a .5” of rake. So I think I’ll be okay with 6/5.

 

what size tires/wheels are you going to run? what instagram if you don't mind sharing?

Has anyone here had there 6112s rebuilt? Mine are creaking and I can feel it through the whole truck

 

Here is a data point for the 21 TRD OR Access cab

Set at 4/5 on the front 6112s, the rear in stock configuration was from 3/8" to 1/4" lower than the front. (each side slightly different with drivers side lowest). Be aware that right after install the front will sit high. It does take some suspension use to settle the coils. I took it out and drove over 6" high curbs at slower speeds (5- 10 mph) numerous times and it dropped the height by 3/4" from initial measurement after dropping it off the jack stands.

I then measured many times to capture the rake difference. I found it easier to measure down from the fender lip to the top wheel edge (at wheel center) for comparisons at the 4 corners. New, in stock configuration, my access cab had ~ 1 1/4" rake. I'd highly recommend that you measure your Taco and get baseline measurements along with the exact rake on a flat surface for your truck. Once you have the baseline results you should be able to make a better decision on clip position if you plan on retaining the stock rear suspension.

I also loaded 250 lbs in the bed behind the rear axle and measured ~ 1/2" rear suspension sag.



If I was planning on staying in stock configuration in the back without carrying any significant bed weight and did not want a slight rake I'd have changed the clip positions to 3/4. Again this is for a Access Cab.

Bilstein indicates that you will get slightly more lift from the access cab vs the double cab at the same settings.

 

Once upon a time there was a chat about a taller spring option. I can’t seem to find it, can someone remind me off the details

 

Bilstein Part Number: BIL53-291387 is a 650lb Spring that is made for the 6112's that keeps the factory warranty. They are made to handle 80-140lbs extra weight for the 6112's. 700lb springs are made by eibach and have been done before but it is NOT recommended due to being too strong of a spring and would void any warranty. The number on the 650lb bilstein springs are E4-FD1-Z562B00. This is just an identifier number on the spring itself but not the bilstein part number. You can look it up through the Bilstein part number as BIL53-291387.

 

Eibach also makes a 650lb coil, that's what I'm running. Wouldn't be surprised if they are the supplier for Bilstein

 

I plan to have SCS ray 10s. 17” with a -10 offset. And 275/70/17 Wildpeaks. His IF is “thatcementtaco”

Mine will be on tomorrow. As of now, will be 5/6 setting and option 3 on the icon RXT leaf pack. Thinking with my weight it will be 2 in the front and 2 in the back on 265-70-17 ridgegrapplers

 

Nice. I just got deavers AAL. So hopefully it’ll do the job! Would love to see a pic of your set up when it’s all done!
