Thanks! yeah I have tons of South Texas brush and small trees, this saw will come in handy clearing up along the fence lines.

 

will do, I have 2 friends who already run this saw, I will abuse it at my property in South Texas. I will be cleaning out all the brush around my live oak trees first, then work along fence lines. My Farm Boss is too big for most this stuff.

 

Sure looks like a fun project! Being outdoors doing most of anything is fun!

 

yes sir, I don’t even consider it work, because I own the property, and no gym membership is required.

 

My old McCulloch died an ungraceful engine death. It was pushing 30 years so I didn't even want to tear into the cause of zero compression.

So laugh all you want, I'm down to my 14" Remington 120V. And of course I needed to cut a tree down this AM. I do keep the chain up on the thing and lube it well. And it cuts pretty darn good! Tree down, oh I'm guessing 13" at the base, all logged out and drying. Greenery all cut up - it was huge arborvitae that was just too close to the house, had been crowned a few times. It was not happy anymore. Rot was starting in at the top, I almost never see that.

 

Hey man that orange cord always starts one. I had a similar experience awhile back. Gas saw wouldn't start and I had a 12" Worx pole saw with the saw head detachable. Went to town on this oak.

 

You will not hear me laughing. Years ago when living in the mountains near Yosemite, extreme fire danger shut down the forests to all gas powered chainsaws. Cordless hadn’t been invented...would have gladly run a corded model if I could. Had to cut my firewood the hard way...5 cords of oak/pine/alder/tamarack small diameter trunk and limb wood all cut with this beast...

Sandvik Bow Saw...No Lie...No exaggeration...just a lot of work. That year the wood warmed me 3 times!!!

 

Did you switch arms? You would have been Popeye arm on your strong side! Wow, yeah I get tired with a chain saw! hahahaha

Scott, anyone who has ever stepped into the South Texas brush quickly recognizes that God did not intend for man to ever cut any of it. He obviously had the devil design it for Him, is just too prickly and prolific. That's the way God planned it. That's the way God wants it to be. Cut it at peril of your Eternal Life!

Gravity always wins, but is always followed by South Texas brush coming in a close second.

 

good thing there is fire and God made good machines like skid steers, dozers and tractors too.

 

When these things are once again dust in the wind, there will be only ants, and climax South Texas brush for them to live in.

 

This guy is very thorough on these tests -- this is one of the best extensive testing videos I have seen.
With that said , I noticed one flaw in his testing methodology. Some times when he finished the cut I noticed a very slack chain. Either he did not check it before his cut on each model, or the bar on that particular saw lost it's PROPER chain tension on the cuts. Either way as anyone who has cut much wood with a chainsaw knows, maintaining the correct chain tension is very important both in the cut time and the life of the chain and it's sharpness, to say nothing of bar life. I would also add Probably? a too tight chain would lower battery life on a battery powered saw?
Note to all -- I do not own nor have I used a battery powered chain saw other than a cheapy Harbor freight pole saw.

 

Hahaha...yes...often. Though I was and am still pretty impressed with this saw. And I really focused on small diameter stuff. Split once and done. It was readily available as most people didn’t bother with the smaller stuff.

 

I think I did at one time but it turned out to be the cap .
