so um, a little bird said, since oregon doesn't have sales tax, setup an a montana or oregon LLC, register the truck in the name of the LLC set up in either state, then proceed to laugh your ass off because commiefornia isn't getting shit for sales taxes. OMG slap my thigh, thats funny right there, thanks little bird.

This may be the best approach. Cut the salesperson and sale manager out of the deal. Be polite, but FIRM. Give the owner/general manager a specific time frame to find a Taco for you. If they can't, I'd ask for my deposit back, with interest. If they can find one that satisfies, remind them that you had maxed out on what you could pay (if the MSRP is higher) and ask what they'll do to make up for the snafu.

 

Lol yes we have lots of Montana and Or plated cars here

it would save me $3,500 in taxes

but we also have a program where your neighbor can cal CHP or if you get pulled over and your DL and registration doesn’t match - big trouble

for a small time farm girl - not sure that’s worth it

 

Call your credit card company NOW and dispute the charge - once it appears on your statement you may get whacked for interest.

 

So they aren’t refunding your deposit?

Get your money back and bounce. Take your business elsewhere.

If they fuck around with the deposit call MasterCard then leave a scathing review of them on google or whatever. That always gets their attention.

If not spend the weekend in front of the dealer with a giant sign that says “sexist pigs that steal from women!”

People in this situation feel victimized when in fact they are now in absolute control.

 

I don’t know about where you are from but here, if you put money down it’s a contract and it is a breach of contract if they don’t follow through. A guy from here flew to Honolulu and put a deposit on a new Corvette. This guy is well to do financially but you’d never know it unless you knew him personally. He went back a couple days later with the balance and they had sold the car. He sued then and won more than the car was worth.

After the text I posted which they say they sold my truck and can refund if I want to kill the deal - 0 comment from them

Forget finding another dealer, find a lawyer. You might even find someone to take this for free as he will get his commission from the suit.
File a complaint with your state attorney generals office to start for free if you don't want to go lawyer route at first. Easy to do, 5 minutes, online. Be sure to file the complaint at the SAG state the sale was made.
I have always had excellent results from them. Someone will be assigned to your case.

 

You still have rights. My dealer sent me an email with all the details of the truck including VIN and Stock number. The dealer is a 10 minute walk from my house, flat ground and I never set foot in there. I saw it as Incoming on the website and called. Put the deposit on my credit card.
