    I am absolutely floored. Wow.

    I just dropped my dog off at chemo and they came up to me and said that "on Wednesday, someone who wished to remain anonymous called and paid for $250 of Cacao's chemotherapy today as a present to Cacao."

    Obviously this was my backup TWSS.

    Thank you so much.

    I was kinda bummed about getting left out, but super happy that my recipient enjoyed his gift. So, I figured it was worth it.

    Then I get the message a few days ago that I was assigned a backup. I was pretty jazzed about that. But, I had no idea. This is just so amazing.

    I had to work a ton of overtime to cover Christmas this year and cover chemo costs and her amputation. It's been nuts. I’ve spent $16,000 on this dog’s illness since May. She’s doing great and her current health is better than the best expectations we had at the start of all this.

    Anyway... this week has been absolute hell. I had to perform a surgical cricothyrotomy on a guy out in the middle of the desert (two hour hike from the nearest road) and he didn't make it. Then I had to hike out with the grieving family. Then the next night we had a motorcycle fatality that was pretty stressful. I've been a medic for 16 years (flight medic, ground in Vegas, SWAT, and now this wilderness gig that I have) and this has been one of the most stressful weeks of my career.

    What I am saying is that this couldn't have come at a better time.
