Another happy Milogen customer. This is probably the highest quality work I’ve had done anywhere in the country. Extremely friendly, professional, and fast! Best $$ I’ve spent on this Taco so far.

Super rude, super unnecessary. This post is for dudes in a specific area of CA looking for good work at a good price from a reputable guy. There are entire threads dedicated to this fabricator’s work.

it's good work, nothing wrong with it. It's also just a sheet metal cover that was MIG welded (in a hurry it appears) onto a cab mount that was lopped off with a grinder, a couple angles included for good measure. It's pretty basic stuff, nothing special about it. The amature rattle can paint job doesn't help, either. If you didn't talk it up like it was something extraordinary, no one would have thought twice about it not being Concours D'Elegance level work, but you touted it as being better than most, "probably the highest quality work I've had done anywhere in the country", in fact. That just invites criticism, especially on a public forum with examples of at least as good if not better quality work done out of a garage.

If your thread is for "dudes in a specific area", you should post it in a regional sub forum so that those "dudes" see it. You also mentioned that it was a good price from a reputable guy, but don't mention the cost. Whos to think that you don't know what a good price and a reputable guy are?

Dude I never said better than most. I said better than the work I personally had done in other places I’ve lived. I simply shared MY experience for someone else to benefit from. This fabricator’s shop is full of well built pre-runners. If folks are jumping his work off 3 story sand dunes, his welds are pretty darn good.

Not MIG, it’s TIG welded, the “sheet metal” is his CAD design and CNC’d; $350. Pardon me for not finding a “regional” sub forum.

Either you got hosed or those are terrible TIG welds because the stuff you posted in your OP is nowhere near the quality and craftsmanship as the IG picture you posted above, those vice jaw marks not withstanding . I know what a good TIG weld looks like, I make them all the time. If your CMC is TIG, well then my comment about mediocrity is even more deserved. It looks like someone joined the cover with bubble gum. It's probably structurally sound but its nothing to show off. I'll pardon you, I don't take this stuff personally. You might want to apologize to highPSI about the wife comment, though.

Edit: nice ninja edit to make yourself look less dumb. Just made it!

Beauty is in the eye of the holder....if you are happy ...that is the main thing..
Yes...the higher the quality of the welds...usually are stronger...and a beauty to see..a art work for sure.

lol, ok. If sharing knowledge that doesn't support someone elses opinion or posting a response to BS threads is "trolling", then sure. Glad you had your CMC done for a fair price and I hope you enjoy your truck.

Those welds look nothing like Tig, they both look like mig. They're nothing to write home about.

Don't get so upset when someone points out flaws on something that didn't live up to the hype.
